Has anyone used their slides and can you comment on the build quality, reliability, fit & finish, etc.?
The lack of responses tells me all I need to know.
I’m pretty sure Zaffiri and PSA shared a schematic for the SW5 slide, because it looks nearly identical to the Zaffiri ZPS.4. I went with PSA for, brand familiarity and because it was cheaper + I got a threaded barrel with my purchase - versus the ZPS.4 just coming with the slide and RMR plate.
I’ve never heard anything bad about them, I wish I could speak more on it. PSA offers a completed pistol with the Zaffiri TiN Slide. Somebody at PSA must like it ![]()
Wait for people to get home from work ![]()
I used a zaffiri slide with rmr cut on a p80 build and it has done fine. Assembly didnt have any issues, barrel fit just fine. I managed to snap that particular firing pin, but don’t think the slide was to blame there.
Never heard of them, Florida company good.
I went with one of their complete slides. I’m building a Glock 26.
I have experience with two orders as a dealer on their G26 kits. I ran into problems with them billing my CC but not shipping the merchandise, failing to ship by the guaranteed ship date, paper shipping with worthless tracking numbers (they sent me tracking numbers associated with shipping labels that never got attached to merchandise and delivered to the shipper, so that tracking never went active), giving me the runaround, refusing to cancel the order when they refused to meet their promised shipping deadline, trying to re-bill after the CC company did a chargeback for fake shipping the merchandise. It was a bad experience. Everything that could go wrong did go wrong, their C/S personnel didn’t inspire confidence in me as a dealer representing their product, so I terminated our relationship. From what I’ve read their reputation for slides seems to be hit or miss. I’ve read reports of happy campers and I’ve read reports of heavy coatings that prevent proper functioning. I can’t verify that though as I never received the merchandise that I ordered.
After the Zaffiri Experience I moved to Norsso. Very happy with them.
Okay, took it to the range for a shakedown. 150 rounds, no faults.
But, it wasn’t without some issues. The cheap fiber optic front sight shot out its red plastic insert, so now it’s just a plain black front sight. Also, GL9 PMAGs are great for the range, do not trust your life with them.
It has to do 500 rounds without failure before I’ll carry it. The sights have to be replaced, I need some Glock mags, and I want a Rainier Arms MARS magazine release to make it an ambi pistol. So far, it’s accurate and consistent with a red dot, but I am a far better shot with Glock 19 form factor pistols.
What kind of issues did you have with the pmags? I swap between pmags and oem. Thank you for the update!
I don’t like fiber optic sights for that reason, fragile plastic inserts in them.
Not had any issues out of my PMAG’s at all, I carry now with the 12rd PMAG’s in my chopped down G19/26 Dagger.
Only one mag out of a huge batch is finally failing to lock open, after at least six years with a LOT of use. Still feeds fine.
Failure to lock open on a dry mag. For the record, the AR and AK PMAGs are phenomenal. The GL9s are just uncooperative.
Many people have said that.
