I mean, there’s a good chance they may stumble across one on a hike.
WELCOME TO THE RICE FIELDS MFs!
is military service compulsory in Vietnam? For male and female?
I’ve heard from many Americans that are roughly 60 years old and older, that they used to bring their shotguns or rifles to school just before hunting season, and everyone would be taught gun safety. Sounds like one of our missing links in modern day America ………but some people just can’t see the Forrest from all those dag blamed trees in the way of the view
Yep. My Dad was captain of the rifle team in highschool. Circa 1934-39… People fought with their fists, and never crossed their minds to use weapons.
They were quick, I’ll give them that.
You could drive around with them in the gun rack in your truck’s back window. Go to the field straight from school. Hunter safety was part of PE/Health Education at my school.
We even had the first day of firearms season off from school - IT WAS CLOSED!!!
First day of Buck was a state holiday in PA. Schools closed.
That was my high school years too. ![]()
Same here. And I know until the late 90’s/early 2000’s my son had Hunter ed/gun safety in school here in SC. Not sure if they still have the program available but if I had to bet I would say not.
Pretty sure Hillcrest High did not when my son graduated there in '12.
Nobody ever accused the Vietnamese of being Stupid.
did a little digging. In South Korea military service is compulsory for males. In North Korea it is compulsory for all males and some females.
Hell hath no fury…
i graduated H.S. in the early 90s, i reember walking our parking lot area called “Truck Row” where all the rednecks parked basically, and just about every truck that was backed in to their spot right againsit the breeze way that we all walked to and from our vocational building, had a rifle or two mounted in the rack in the back window of their truck. Yes, they would hunt when hunting season was on, they’d go both before and after school. the rifles were not removed when hunting season was over though, they were a permenanty resident in those windows, unless needed.
Now, that said, we did have a school shooting when i went to school there too. all i remember about it was it was two kids fighting over a fast food biscuit from hardees and guess what, it wasnt a rifle that was used, but a pistol. multiple shots were fired, but i do not think anyone got shot. unfortunately thats over 25 years ago now, so my memory is fading on it.
When I grew up, people treated High School students like adults. And guess what, they acted like adults. I got my license when I was 15, could legally drink at 16, buy alcohol at 17, drink in bar at 18. 14 year olds had paycheck jobs after school, weekends or over the summer. They bought their own car/truck at 16 and moved out their parents house at 18. Now they are told that they are special, don’t want to work, damn sure to lazy and dependent to live on their own. They carry $1300 phones, wear trendy clothes, want free stuff and don’t leave home til they are 35 years old…
i cannot agree with you more.
Is this what’s meant by the phrase, “You gotta risk it to get the biscuit”? ![]()
Ours are taught the joys of cross-dressing.
