Nice collection and money well spent!
Thank you @mrtwallace ![]()
Ok I have to say it… It is so nice to not see a single idiot mark!
Oh no I’ve made those idiot marks before,
but it’s been a long time ago.
I slightly buggered up a screw on the Carry because my hands don’t work well anymore.
My fault for being lazy and careless ![]()
I have one from when they first started importing them. I guess it’s a service model A1?
You ever see those videos of dudes rebuilding engines with rudimentary hand tools on a dirt floor while wearing flip flops? Well, the finish on my 1911 looks like it was done by those guys.
I should’ve waited to buy one. They are so much nicer now.
They are the best 1911 value in the market for what you get, in my opinion anyway.
Those look great! I have been eyeballing several different models on battlehawkarmory.com. They had the Aviator on sale for $370 and I am kicking myself for missing out on it. Sometimes PSA is cheaper, sometimes not.
Here is a link for Tisas only. For some reason you have to add the gun to your cart before they show you the discounted price.
Edit: I didn’t think about posting another competitor’s site on this forum. If uncool let me know and I will take down, while begging for forgiveness.
Are they all 5in barrels (other than the carry model, I would expect)? Are they significantly heavier than, say, a Dagger?
Obviously, I can see the data for myself, but you have experience shooting both and was curious if that was a significant variable to your shooting experience.
They have a huge one at my local indoor range for rent and I need to get in there and shoot that big boy.
Thx.
New screw no big deal replace screw. Scratch on frame from slide stop is there forever to remind you.
Yes @thehardinfamily619 these are all 5" except the Carry model.
Weight is probably double of the Dagger.
Shooting these vs the Dagger are different in many ways, with the main difference being 45 vs 9mm but Tisas does offer several 1911 models in 9mm.
Mr giving you a shooting experience amongst the 2 would probably not be a fair assessment being that I have carpal tunnel in both hands.
Get to your local range and give them a go ![]()
I have a few older 2nd hand 1911s that I acquired with idiot marks but have left them as they are.
The 1911 to me is a little bit of a addiction.
I’ve just always loved them.
BTW -
the prices I listed included tax and shipping if that matters.
thats a fairly good price on the aviator at psa. i may end up picking up that one eventually. I wish that Tisas would come out with more variety of 1911s intheir higher end line, well heck all their lines. I have the night stalker and raider and a standard GI from them, but we need more variants, colors, finishes, etc. they seemed to be doing some of that with their carry line up with naming them after sharks and stuff, it seems cool, but we need more of that diversity in their line, than 50 gi’s basically lol. love the tisas guns i have though… as for a comparison between one of them and a dagger or glock it is near impossible. both being different calipers, the 1911 being all steel and much heavier with a much softer trigger, and much better recoil reaction due to being so much heavier than the dagger… its like comparing apples and watermellons. way too hard to do both are excellent firearms in their own ways…
been wanting to get a Tisas Duty in 9mm.
But now after buying a dagger i might have to do another build before buying a tisas lol
A 1911 in any caliber other than 45 is disrespectful in my opinion ![]()
normally i agree 100% and then some… however lately i’ve loosened my strict needs, and do accept some of them in 9mm. it just depends on the gun. but yea, usually your 100% right on the money brother.
Although the two-tone on wood grips seems odd. It’s pretty sexy. I like the looks of that
