Anybody else hear about this being a thing? I’m guessing it will use the funny looking curved magazines. Unless they release it with the same lower as The Mixtape. That wider profile on the lower might match up with the thick Jakl upper quite well.

Heavier subsonic projectiles than 300 BLK subsonic 300 BLK is comparable to 45 acp energy on target 338 ARC is comparable to 44 magnum energy on target it would benefit from a faster twist than 1:8 especially with a short barrel 1:5 or at least 1:6.5 would be ideal

Hornady seems to be pushing this 338 ARC round hard. Will wait for the MAGPUL mags though. Since according to some early videos the 6.5 Grendel mags don’t work the best.
Magpul already makes the mags. They are for the LWRC 6.8 receiver. They have made them for years.

The magazines aren’t available for purchase just yet. I wonder if PSA will do a 22 ARC on the same lower at some point?
Magpul has made the 6.8spc mags for years. Its the same mag as the 338. They wont fit in a standard lower.

So from my research, 338 arc suppressed is comparable to 300 Bo with a greater range and more knockdown power. Its charm is that it shells fit in standard ar-15 lower, sort of. I built a 338 arc pistol using 10.5 “ side charge upper from BCA and PSA “weasel style” pistol lower. I’m experimenting with cmmg 338 arc mag. I also have AR stoner mag shown here. Witt Machine QD Mod-1. I’ll take a JAKL 338 Arc adjustable pistol gas upper. Should plug and play with my 300 JAKL lower and run!

SIX8 magazines are not the same as ICAR. Same basic style. But SIX8 magazines will not properly seat 6 ARC/338 ARC/6.5 Grendel.
The mixtape as offered next Friday is with a standard lower to work with 5.56, 300blk, 6.5g, 6.8spc etc (some calibers depending on end user barrel change). The 6arc is planned to use the Six8 style mag that Originally was made by LWRC (and now made by multiple companies such as New Frontier) and utilizes a special mag made by magpul.
PSA may be working with a mag manufacturer like they did with the 338 to be a “guarantee to work”. We dont know the end specifics yet.
