Any good resources to find affordable 2.75” 12GA and 5.56 ammo? I know prices are high and inventory is low at most places. Just want to know if anyone has stumbled on a gold mine they don’t mind sharing.
Check topgunammo they are hit and miss
I’ve bought at Academy Sports - they get their shipments at around 7:30am and open at 9am. This past winter I would be in line at 5:30am and it paid off.
They only allow two boxes per customer per day - if all they have is boxes of 20 rounds or of 500 rounds. There are no lines now, so just show up at 9am and you get to pick from what they got.
My local Big R farm supply store regularly has most 12ga in stock now. Target loads from 9.99-11.99 box depending on brand and quality. 00 buck from 3.99/5 and on up. I’ve been stocking up…
My AR is 300 Blackout, so I can’t really help with 5.56…I picked up 100 rounds of that yesterday for $120.
Ammo seek has 556 starting at 52 cents and 223 at 43 cents. Right now.
Ammoseek has been good for me. Give it a go.
For re-loading Midway actually had some Small Rifle Primers for a day. the Mil Spec CCI-41 … $120 for 1000 primers, delivered.
Works out to about 12 cents a primer.
Before I started reloading, I bought 5.56 ammo from PSA. XM193 & XM855 … 27 cents a round if you were patient.

Looks like PSA has the XM193 in stock for 70 cents a round.
75 cents a round for more 55 grain 5.56. I’m noticing a trend !
Sportsman Warehouse … just bought some 6.8 SPC from them for 90 cents a round.
One of the tricks for getting lower prices - give the good etailers your email. Then they send you emails advertising the low prices, which be sounds like they are selling out quick.
I have gotten emails for 5.56 at 50 cents a round - recently - from the same etailers that are 70 or 75 cents today.
Like the primers at Midway, it just doesn’t last long. At least Midway has primers, that is a good sign for Ammo Prices (going down).
Maybe 50 cents around is the new low price for 5.56.
