yeah gonna have to add that to my list of things to acquire.
i also want the cmmg banshee in 5.7x28 it uses the fn 5-7 mags so it would work well.

My 2 cents having owned the other CMMG and the dbx… If you want an ar type thing that fires 5.7 and uses the fn magazines, go with the DBX-57. Weighs half the cmmg weight, adjustable gas operated dual piston and is about 3/4 of an inch wide at its most portly point. Takes a bunch of ar parts too.
Only advantage for the cmmg imho is swapping the upper around to other ar lowers.
thats good to know. i always forget about the DBX… i really need to check it out more in depth. thank you for the advice and information.
I am always happy to dispense 5.7x28mm related advice and certainly plenty of opinion. ![]()
awesome. im always down for it too!
Greetings! New here. After a little research and a lot of thought, I sold my ODG FN five7 Wednesday and ordered a Rock optics ready with threaded barrel the same evening. Got shipping notification today (Thursday) that it will be delivered to my FFL tomorrow (Friday)
I was never happy with the sights on my FN. Mine had the rear adjustable and IMO the sight picture was horrible. Since the sights on my FN could not be easily changed, the decision to dump it was made easier. I put 800+ rounds through it and never really got used to the sights. I am sure I will be able to find sights that suit me for the Rock. I saw somewhere here that I should break the Rock in, is there a link to instructions? Thanks in advance.
Hi Shotty. I’ve heard some of the other folks on the forum are happier with their rock after doing a lot of dry fire or putting a few hundred rounds down the pipe. Mine was fantastic out of the box and has been fantastic ever since so I don’t have any direct break in experience to provide.
welcome to the forums @shotty
You had an ODG 57? those are very rare. i know alot of guys who lust after them. They usually bring a huge premium over the standard value of other 57’s … if i may ask, and you can PM me this if you will answer, what you got for the 57 in ODGreen?
The rock sigts are easily changed if youre familliar with glock sights. can be done in under 10 minutes to a person who has done glocks before.
I agree, it is rare and likely worth much more than I got for it. However, after I picked up my PSA Rock from the FFL today and sent 100 rounds down range with it, any regret over $$ is gone. I am already better with it than I ever was with the FN. Likely because I have Glocks and the Rock has a glockish trigger. The Rocks sights are so much better than the ones on the FN. But I will be changing the Rocks sights to fiber optic. I may even try an optical red dot on it so recommendations will be appreciated . I have never used a red dot on a pistol, dont know much about them.
I would like to mention that I have shot a box of AE Federal and a box of FN197SR today. It was my first time ever shooting the Federal ammo along with being the first time I ever shot the Rock. I felt like the groups were a little big when I shot the Federal ammo. Then I shot the 197SR ammo and the groups really tightened up. I dont know how much of it was me getting used to shooting the Rock or how much the Federal ammo played a part in it.
glad to hear that about the sale of your old five seven versus the rock… that is awesome that you are much better shooter using the rock. I too did change out my sights on my rock, because i wanted night sights. other than that i love my rock. i may put a theaded barrel on it, but thats it. no red dot for me on it. i have one on one of my daggers and one sig, and my fnx 45 and thats pleanty to me.
Now I just need a holster that will let me rock the Olight Pro R

What method did you use for that?
Because your light extends past the muzzle so far you’re going to need a holster custom made for the Rock Oologht Pro combo. I don’t know of any holster makers producing custom holster for the Rock with custom light configurations.
However, it appears that the Rock light combo will fit perfectly in a holster designed for the FN Five Seven. There are a number of makers who manufacture custom holsters for the Five Seven with lights or laser/light combos.
Thanks for the tip ![]()
I just took some acryllic paint and filled it in to emboss. I used tissues and some dish soap to wipe off the excess paint. I got experience doing it when I painted my airsoft gun ![]()
You can watch videos on how to emboss your gun to get a feel. Try to keep the paint out of the grip texture, because its harder to get off.
The Blackhawk Omnivore fits perfectly. I learned that the Baldr Pro R will fit holsters designed for the Streamlight X300. Its a better light for half the price ![]()
I just was able to shoot the new 5.7 I got recently. First 100 rounds of FNH ammo had two failures to eject (cases still in the chamber) and then it started shooting well. In the rest of the 98 rounds, I had two failures to feed all the way. I did clean the pistol before I shot it. When I cleaned it the second time, I noticed the chamber was smooth on one side and very rough on the other. Has anyone seen that on their 5.7’s? I would think it should be smooth all the way around the chamber and that might be what could have caused some of the above malfunctions. I really like the design of this pistol compared to the Ruger, since it is more Glock like for the sights and take down.
1911 is a style of gun. You can have a compact 1911. So Im not sure what you are asking. Its a full size gun, bigger than my 1911.
I’d say it’s around the size of a full size 1911. It’s a full size pistol, no doubt. The loaded weight however is comparable to a loaded single stack compact 9mm imnsho. It’s large but the light weight makes concealing it no problem.
