AC unity 17rd Mags in Dagger hard to insert and remove

Hey all!

I picked up a handful of the M17 AC Unity mags for the range but I am having a bit of an issue. When fully loaded it seems the sides of the mag bulge out causing a lot of friction when inserting the mag into the dagger. It’s so tight I have to slam it in to make sure it’s seated properly and when the release is pushed the mag will not drop out at all. Instead I have to hold the release while manually pulling out the mag. It’s the same on all six mags I purchased too.

Is this a known issue?

It also seems the plastic is not as rigid as say a PMag, so I’m guessing therein lies the problem.

Does anyone have any fix for this? Will they break in at all and loosen up over time?

Lastly, what are your best recommendations for reliable 17rd mags for the Dagger?

Thanks!
Chip

Yep, AC Unity mags buldge. Happens with all cheaper mags. If you want reliable. Get Glock brand.

That’s what I figured. I have never had aftermarket mags bulge quite like this though, so I just wanted to make sure it wasn’t some weird issue on my end.

Thanks for the reply!

Welcome

I have had even OEM Glock mags fail to drop out on one of my Daggers. The Black Dagger I have was fine but the tan one would fairly consistently do it.
Sanding and smoothing it out helped for a little while but it went back to hanging up.
I figure if I’m going to be taking out a full or partial mag it’s for a retention reload anyway so I don’t mind ripping it out.

Yes, I have a few. They are like Magpul Glock mags. They get fat when fully loaded. They work though, just don’t like to kick the mag out the magwell without firing a few off, or pulling it out with your fingers. Stick with Glock mags for compact or full-sized Daggers.
