Is anyone aware of any REAR iron sight options that bolt on to a pic rail dust cover (I.e. TWS top cover) that isn’t just an open peep sight? Something that would adjust elevation at least?

no, but that sounds like a good idea especially with my hellpup…
You would think they would have a little more out there than just a fixed peep sight, but I can’t seem to find another solution. I installed the railed dust cover for optics but I like to keep back up irons and the options available leave a lot to be desired

Im in this predicament as well. I have the tws cover and the peep sight, im not so fond of it.

The tws one is about the only thing out there. Yall design a new one, patent it, have it made. Sell it, retire.

Pretty much this. The AK is not a modern rifle, if you wanted an optic mounted there without a side rail, then this was not the rifle you wanted, you’re looking for a galil (assuming you wanted to stay with the same operating system). So basically it’s the tws, or a zenitclone.
i want to replace my railed dust covers with smooth ones on my akp and akv is that easy?
also have the rear leaf sight instead
Yes. Easy to do. Simply a roll pin to change.

Its just their peep sight is all. The cover is fine. Just curious if any other sights exist that work. Thanks tho.

Leapers and UTG also make versions of something similar. They are 6061 aluminum but uncertain about quality with them. The NEC sights should be tip top though.

I just dont trust leapers/utg for actual guns. Too much airsoft junk that they make.
The PRO line seems legit from the reviews I have read.
It may be, but i wont use them. Do i always need top of the line most expensive? Heck no. But i also dont scrape the bottom of the barrel.
I was never one to buy generic or store brands at the grocery store either but sometimes a Value is just as good as the real thing

there is an HK diopter sight that I use. They are cheap to find. you may have to change distance rotator on it. hk diopter sight - MidwayUSA
