AK side rails/ optic mounts

Anyone know if Russian optics/ mounts such as the Axion Kobra work on the PSA side rails? thought Ive read that the rails are to a different spec and only mounts like the MI work.

Welcome @Mike Our PSA side rails will work with most MI and RS Regulate optic mounts. We cannot guarantee that they will work with all mounts as different AK’s from various countries have different specs.

I added a Russian PK-01 sight to my PSAK-103. Other than having to adjust the tension, which Russian mounts are made to do, I had no problems with the PK-01 fitting the PSA rail.

Awesome! Glad to hear. Now you need to post a picture!

The price on this is amazingly low, around $35. UTG Pro MTU016. Its pretty solid. Bonus: side-side rail!

I have two. One on my GF3 pistol and one on the GF3 rifle.

Awesome. Good to hear!

I tried a side rail and just didn’t like it, and went with an Ultimak and Sig Romeo 5 combo that has worked well. Don’t forget to look at the Ultimak.

Thanks for the tip… been looking for a side scope mount for my GF3. :sunglasses:

How well does it hold zero? Is there any noticeable wobble? I’d like to get a side rail myself but can never find the AK Master Mount or the RS Regulate rails in stock and they’re pricey to boot.

Anyone use AK master mount on their PSA?

I use the Master Mount on my GF3 with the Primary arms acss x3 prism and I have the mount on it’s tightest setting possible and it barely fits (the rail on the GF3 is too small. It does have some wiggle but I held zero for the first 1000 rounds or so but I think its loosening now because it did not hold zero the last time I took her out. That could have just been a fluke though I have not takin it back since. I was thinking of trying something new but I don’t know what else to try as far as side mounts for the GF3.

I have the AK Master Mount on my GF5, no issues, and is center bore.

I’m also using a Master Mount on my GF4 MOEkov edition. A little tension screw adjustment and had it mounted in 5 minutes. It fits snugly, and is just barely to the right of center bore (not enough to bother me). Holds zero and easy to remove, highly recommened!

Just came across this topic seeking a possible solution.

I have an RS regulate 301m mount that does not fit over my PSAK gf5 rail. At the time I figured since the front sight post is off center and won’t zero I’ll just throw a red dot on it in the meantime. Welp, now I have an expensive mount, an expensive optic, and a front sight post that won’t zero.

I’ve put the rifle in the back of my safe since but I figured I should probably get this taken care of before the weather starts clearing up so I can actually shoot it when the trails open up.

Please post a picture of your RS Regulate 301 on your AK.
That RS Regulate is among the best and Iā€˜ve never seen one not fit.
Also post a pic of your canted front sight post. If you can’t zero it……you have several options. PSA’s warranty should take care of it. Or if you have an AK ā€œSpecialistā€ near you, it can be perfected in a few minutes.
I have a WASR-10 that had a canted front sight. My local AK builder took minutes, removed the pins from the front sight tower, rotated the tower to center & re-inserted the pins……while I waited. Seven years later with much abuse……it’s still straight and accurate.
Good thing about that RSRegulate is that they are so difficult to get your hands on one that you can easily sell it without any loss of $$.

Or go with nuclear option…

Damn……that’s a lot of ā€œrailā€ space for mounting ……everything you can afford.
Good looking AK !

Thanks! I got this one back when you could get a saiga for 800 bucks. All the zenit stuff cost more than the saiga itself back then :man_facepalming:t2:

Man I love AKs. My ARs……they look like all the other ARs on the rack: Black n plastic….sometimes you see tan n black….blah blah blah. But the AK….as old as it’s design is……there are so many variations of different colored wood or wood laminates, different colors of Bakelite, even different colors of thermo plastic……not even mentioning all the different shapes of the handguard and gas tube covers……then there is the infinite variety of fixed or folding stocks……Damn…they just turn out as unique as anyone wants to create them. They are to ā€œHell & Back Toughā€, hard hitting 30 cal……that is cheap to shoot ! What’s not to love?

They used to be cheap to shoot
