AKM-101 Muzzle brake, flash hider loose/wobbles

Is this correct? Should the muzzle brake be tight? I’ve read that some AK rifles have loose fitting parts compared to ARs.

Should the flash hider, muzzle brake be loose and wobble slightly?

That is normal. It is clocked to the pin.

Had the same question years ago. We all start somewhere. It is completely normal as previously stated.

Been an “AR guy” for years. Have some others like an M1A, etc. Thought that meant I knew a little about rifles.

Learning quickly that the AK line is a completely different animal.

Ask away with questions. I just became an AK guy in the past 2 years. A cheap addition I make to all AK’s is to add a Dust Cover gasket which helps eliminate gas to the face, especially when shooting suppressed. I use these:

Will do as I get going. Cleaning and going to the range in the next few days.

Bought a Magna Matic sight adjustment tool, a surplus Russian sling, and a surplus East German AK-74 cleaning rod since the rifle didn’t include one.

Hoping the front sight isn’t canted and I don’t experience the issues some have had with the 5.56 chambered rifles. Should know soon. :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks for the help.
