I’ll post something somewhere else on here if y’all can get past the source and whatnot.
I get all that…sometimes we have to look at the bigger picture. Like it or not, 5.45 is a boutique round. The average user (and PSA customer) is shooting 5.56 and 9mm.
Having said that, when AAC does get 5.45 out it is going to be in high demand. In the long run, we may see others make it and the price to go down. That has already happened with 10mm and 5.7x28. Once AAC was in the game, things changed for the better for the consumer.
I’ll wait until June to ask about the 6.5 Grendel ![]()
well dont feel bad @nvpurk i too am awaiting 6.5 grendel
How about some 5.45 ammo instead of yet another PSA $1500 .308 Or the same “ends midnight” keltec special. It’s been a few years and we’re still waiting for AAC 5.45.
Its one of the calibers in the pipeline. Jamin has a specific reason for releasing the calibers in the order he is. Each line is a new set up from scratch.
I’ve been trying to read the tea leaves on this all along. Sometimes I think I read too much into .380 production and when It was released.
Literally nothing you’re complaining about has any impact whatsoever on the caliber production pipeline.
Ahab
Enough 300BLK and 556. That shyte is EVERYWHERE. I mean everywhere. 9mm as well.
Same with 9mm polymer handguns. Do we really need another but with “extreme” carry cuts ![]()

.
Let’s hurry it up with the 545. Mmmmkay? LETS GO I remember when psa knew what they were. A decent entry level AR company. Now we’re trying to compete with BCM and Fulton armory (prices too). You’ve lost your way. You’ve left your lane
It’s not too late to remember why we loved you once. It’s like watching a friend buy 30 super carry and not trying to intervene
5.56, 9mm, and 300blk are PSA’s top sales firearm wise. They know exactly who their customer base is.
Furthermore, you cant set up an ammo line from scratch overnight. It takes time. Jamin has said he wants to add 10 additional calibers but that will be a 2 yr process minimum.
Everybody seems to forget what they’ve single-handedly done to the price of ammo across the board to the calibers they produce. I’m expecting the same to happen to 6.5 G.
Not everyone, look 9 posts up from yours.![]()
Well said.
ya know, everyone seems to forget while they are complaining about not having this caliber or that caliber out yet from AAC, that the ammo plant didnt not even EXIST 2 years ago. theyve done all theyve done in such a short while with the AAC plant and ammo we all should be amazed, and not just amazed, but thankful. do they have every caliber we all want out yet, no, are they intending to widen their lineup still? Yes.
just another perspective i think folks dont think about. Patience young grasshopper… all will be well.
Hi, has PSA said what is next in line now that 6.5 is out?
No.

@Lithium
I dont think people are ungrateful rather its a desperate situation as PSA is the last hope for 5.45. Even if someone were to mount a legal challenge to the 7n6 ban it would be moot because of sanctions. The entire market is stuck with scraps of red army standard, second hand corrosive 7n6 , or 65gr tela. While tela is at least an option, it came on to the scene starting at 0.80 cpr which thankfully dropped to 0.60-0.70 recently. Im personally debating on whether or not to swallow 60 cpr tela with a psa ak 105 now or wait it out for AAC production to start.
I feel your pain - I kind of went through the same thing with 6.5G (yours is a much more dire situation) , and I’m glad I was able to stick it out for about a year. The current political climate isn’t making things any easier. It was cheaper to buy AAC 6.5 CM Saber than buy a good box of Grendel for $40 to 50, so the rifle sat for more than a year.
5.45x39 is a sweet round, but, alas, I’m not getting any more calibers. Since the Grendel came out relatively quickly after 7.62x39, I’d say we’ll see it pretty soon.
