I have used ammoseek.com many times and never had an issue with them or any of the listed dealers on their site. YMMV.
Yes, ammoseek is legit. Be sure to pay attention to the ratings (number of stars) for the sellers/dealers. If you just click on that rating, you’ll read buyers’ reviews and I found it to be helpful, as the lower rated dealers do have misleading deals, so i avoid them like the plague. The higher rated ones are great though. Examples of good ones: Selway Armory, LAX ammo, Freedom Munitions. Misleading ones would be like Battlehawk Armory–I have noticed the deals posted don’t match what is on their website.
I don’t know what is flagged by the scam detector–that tool is probly pretty accurate, just not 100%.
Me too.
@454casull sorry for some of the responses you got. It can be frustrating at times to read negative reviews when you understand the reason why something was done and the reviewer doesn’t. It skews the overall ratings negatively when the reviewer doesn’t understand something. It is hard in todays age for good companies to keep a good reputation when they are reviewed negatively for a reason that isn’t accurate. I am not saying that you are this way but some people don’t think twice about leaving negative reviews over what many would consider is a trivial reason in the overall scheme of things. PSA is a unique company that really does listen to it’s customer’s opinions. If you notice @sean.psa a moderator took your post seriously and was already aware of the review issue and was trying to fix it. To me that says a lot about a company. You aren’t the only one that has had a concern or issue that our moderators took seriously and worked to take care of the issue. Read through some of the forums posts and you will see what I am referring to.
hey Greg, i just wanted to single you out for a min, and say thanks from myself and the other moderators here, your kind words and support is appreciated. Alot of the time we mods get the short end of the stick sometimes, and while we know its a usually thankless job, (and we’re fine with that..) we do appreciate you and other folks here who pick up on the things we do to help out everyone and in every way we can.
I won’t say that I always agree with everything but I understand being in a tuff spot. Being in a leadership position you have to be close enough so that your guys feel comfortable enough to come to you when they have an issue or a problem but not so close so that they think that they can run all over you. Many times it is a fine line to walk. Sometimes you have to show a little more compassion and other times you have to kick them in the butt when they are lagging behind. It is basically the same things that you guys do. If I really got out of line I would expect you guys to say so. We can agree or we can agree to disagree but at the end of the day this isn’t my forum and I am not paying the bills. I have to abide by the rules of the forum just like everyone else. If I get my hand slapped, I am a big boy and I can deal with it.
Many times people post before they really think about what they are saying. Many times I have to change what I said or posted because it didn’t come out the way that I meant it to or I have to apologize to another member and explain what I really was trying to say.
The original topic to this thread made me think and remember: I bought an Upper (non-PSA) one time lo, many years ago - and it actually came with one of the spent cartridges (in an envelope) that I assumed had been used to Test it.
I think partly to assure the customer that it was correct and functional - and perhaps partly for those Totalitarian states that were requiring the law-abiding Crimizenry to Register their firearms and provide samples for future Pre-Crime Operations.
I believe Maryland and Connecticut were two such. I’ve bought several pistols with those little smashable/discardable envelopes…
Thanks all–I’m happy I got so much feedback. And don’t worry–my negative review never did show up on the upper purchase I made, so we are all square now. Hopefully this thread will be found by someone else with the same query. BTW, if there is a place on the PSA site that has this type of info (besides the forum), let me know. Also, I struggle with the description anomalies on the site–seems like there is not a single format for specs on items in the same category. If a spec is not mentioned, I think it is not true for that item, but sometimes they just leave it out. Like for a bolt I want to know if it is MPT and High pressure tested (HPT), but sometimes one of those is just not mentioned. I’m thinking a lot of surfers see this disparity in the postings…??
I just assume if it’s not listed it’s not done.
that generally has been the way it works
