Anyone reloading the 5.7x28 cartridge?

Did not know where to post this, so here it is. I got some range time in today, finally got to shoot the AAC Vmax, Vanguards BFOD and their monumental 36 grain GPM ammo. The AAC ammo performed flawlessly, however I had issues with both types of Vanguard ammo in both of my rocks. The Vanguard ammo was getting stuck in the chamber and would not extract. I had to forcefully pry a couple cases from the chamber. I also had some rounds that were not making it completely into battery and I had to slap the slide to get them fully into battery. Needless to say I hated to waste the expensive ammo but if you dont test it you just dont know. I know some of you guys have the Vanguard ammo, and I am wondering if you are having any trouble with it in your Rock? I also have some chrono data from todays session, saw some velocities over 2400, I think they were from a newish batch of FN198 I will post the new info in my previous chrono post when I get it downloaded and get some time.

Just noticed this thread. I know it’s years later, but if you are looking for reloading brass…
I have used Blue Ridge Brass multiple times for multiple calibers. Small family owned, but very decent folks.
they have both processed and raw brass. I’ve been happy with .223, 300 BO, 7.62x39 I have received from them and recently grabbed some raw 5.7 brass. I recently got a Rock 5.7 and have been relaoding for a few years so will likely be reloading 5.7
Very good company - not sure what they have in stock, but take a gander…

Hey Shotty!
Been awhile but hoping to get your bullet makes and loading data to use if you don’t mind. Do you think it saves over buying new ammo per round?
Thanks!

You have to do @shotty so he gets a notification you responded to him @kdgaljk

Wow… I wish I could get these prices.

I can get Fiocchi for 28.00 FMJ though, which is fine if they are in stock.

@tsbond, where was that? The ā€œhyperperformanceā€ is definitely a lie, but at $20 a box I’ll use it for training ammo all day.

Yeah I have never used those ā€œhyperperformanceā€ rounds. I figure it was marketing but yeah 20 dollars a box is perfect for practice considering the price most of the time. I get the Fiocchi FMJ locally. The 150 round box, I think PSA sells it 15 or so dollars less than I get it locally, about 82 bucks here for 150 Fiocchi.

The 20 dollar box was PSA daily sale. They are back up to 35 now.
