AR-V Reliability

Don’t know if most build or buy their AR-V… mine is a PSA complete rifle, 16" barrel. I have had one issue or another since the first shot. Failures to feed, fire and extract. Range time was frustrating and tried various things to improve the way this thing runs. Been reading a lot on PCCs the past few weeks and don’t know this guys creds, but he has some excellent articles.

For the first time since buying this thing I put 100 rds through it yesterday with no malfunctions! Ultimately two things solved my problems: Polishing the feed ramp and swapping the buffer for a Macon Armory Deadblow with standard carbine spring (put my Wolff XP on the shelf).

The new buffer removed all the bolt over travel (which was a ton) and bolt bounce, which I believe was the cause of my failure to fire with the bolt bouncing and letting go of the round so the firing pin was not making contact. Just a theory, but every failure to fire left the round in chamber when trying to clear.

Rudy at Macon is THE pcc guy. He can get anything to work.

so the deadblow with the factory spring solved your issues? nice, good to hear. they are cheap enough i may buy one to have on hand when my 7" ar-v shows up.

It did. Have put another 100 rds through since posting this and no failures.
