Let me start by saying I NEVER expected the STG44 to become a product. I have been begging, and praying that PSA considers arms that are still extremely sought after, but unobtainable be it through availability, price, and of course banning of certain imports.
So, what else should PSA on their new “Battlfield” firearms, consider? m1 garand that isn’t over 2k? PSA SkS that isn’t 400? (when I bought mine for 80 bucks?) Who knows?
My prayer is that a 7.62x54r rifles be made. Imagine owning a PSA draganov and not spending 10k? And if at the end of the day, if you have room, perhaps, 7.7x58m ammunition…:?
While I do have my concerns about the Initial versions of the Stg44 coming out, I’m equally supportive of what Mike and Crew aspire to accomplish on the H&R and Battlefield Series.
Personally , I’d like to see a nice copy of the T-48 FAL Variant used to compete against the M-14 during the Post War Combat Rifle trials.
The H&R M-14 is supposed to already be in consideration .a good choice , yet up against 3 established Domestic competitors in Springfield Armory, Fulton Armory, James River and a Norinco version , now banned but still floating about in the Used Market. Price and Quality will be a deciding factor as always. Honestly , not a Turd in the bunch. The Norinco has its fanbase and is very popular in Canada.
M-1’s and SKS’s…the market is still pretty full of both Surplus and Post Cold War versions , tough to compete with a full market , yet the H&R branding does spark interest on the Garand…cost being the decision maker for most whom arent concerned about real USGI markings or parts.
The FG-42 German Paratrooper ( Fallschirmjager )Rifle of WWII is also an Interesting choice… the last one offered a few years back didn’t come cheap or plentiful…it’s rarely even mentioned except in passing " If Only I" conversations. Lastly…which variant? The Rheinmetal Type 1 or the enhanced Kreighoff Type 2 ? Both are awkward. Front Heavy but still neat pieces. Failing logistics of Nazi Germany from Allied Bombing helped keep the actual numbers few compared to other weapons.
Lastly, I hope they will build an Honest to God copy of Stoner’s AR-10 Rifle.
I’d like to see an actual fielded version like those sold to Pre-Castro Cuba ( that Castro actually paid for) , Sudan or Portugal. There are others but modest in real numbers.
I know Mike and NDS were hooked up with Brownell’s on an affordable AR-10 , since discontinued but I’d love to see one that’s not Butterscotch colored this time around.
Man.. I gotta love ya dude! When you dream you shoot past the stars and plot a course for a whole new Universe.
Ohio Gun Works has been building a Quality BAR copy for sometime now. I know one person whom has one and other than lacking selective fire capabilities, it’s a jewel and a pleasure to shoot.
The BAR ( auto) if memory serves has around 85 parts to it. Each and Everyone one designed to take the pounding of sustained 30.06 rounds out the muzzle.
Ohio Arms the last I looked was selling them for $7,616.99…the last one I put my eyes on in a brick and mortar environment fetched $10,000.00 with the Only accessories being a Cleaning Kit and a single 20 Round Magazine.
Being as things are… and knowing the brutality of repeat 30.06 fire , where do you suggest this mystery maker to cut corners to make a BAR Semi Auto both Safe and Affordable?
I’ve fired my share of BAR’s and taken them apart , put’em back together . Nowhere would I suggest cheaponing out on one thing to save weight or money…even if 23 pounds of Dead Weight plus Ammo is beating the hell out of my body as I carry over great distances and varying terrain. I felt about the M-60 the same way.
Come on belt fed with mag feed option complete upper! Give it to us 16" middy with CHF chromed 4150 barrel, carp 185 bolt with sprinco throughout ambi handle. If you can deliver this under 4k I’m a buyer all day everyday. Who doesn’t love to mag dump into trash, come on people
I have 10k worth of corrosive ammo I would NEVER put into a Six Thousand dollar rifle. If PSA made a Dragunov, I guarantee you they would sell out by the millions. It is my prayer they make this happen. Then again, the mp5… just saying…
