Which one is better the m472 or the hypertap? Purely for recoil for the wife could care less about noise thanks
supposedly the Hypertap is slightly more effective at channeling recoil. But at double the price, is it worth it? Some would say “HELL YEAH!” Your choice.
Don’t run one. Fireballs are cool.
Im open to other brands if one is less gassy and loud in your face than the other
Looks like maybe the gentry quiet muzzle brake or the hudu operate more that way than a traditional muzzle brake
That’s a problem because we do go to the range
Some brakes that “help” with recoil might give you more concussion, so take that into thought. And the best? A suppressor.![]()
Ikr I was thinking maybe just get a muzzle break with suppressor capability for down the road. Im one of those guys thats like damn 1500 for a suppressor might as well buy another AR lol
Eh, I know I’m probably in the minority on this one but I’ll just double up on my ears before paying that much for a suppressor while also having to pay for a government permission slip and waiting probably a year for them to decide to get back to me on it.
Abolish the NFA and I’ll get right on that train, though.
Not all cans are $1500. I think the most i have ever spent was $8-900 with the tax stamp. The wait does suck though.
you can move to texas… lol… but i too recently been taking into serious consideration a suppressor for the 9mm PCC
Don’t get me Wrong - I’m all for the NFA going the way of the Dodo - but utter deregulation would suddenly produce stuff like this:
Regulation does NOT have to come from the Government. The Industry can certainly develop an ISO-type Standard and Certification without outside meddling.
what’s a good 9mm can for PCC?
thanks in advance
I found a place called Gentry Customs, have any of you guys heard this place or used their muzzle brakes? They claim theres reduces recoil a lot and is quieter than a regular brake that points the gasses straight at you since theres points directly sideways. I asked if that was the best design why doesnt places like precision armament or ultradyne do it that way but she didnt really have an answer. They seem pretty popular for being a small custom shop. They did say they they need to know the OD of the rifle and how long the threads are which I dont know. Hoping one of you guys knows the answer on that? PA10 3rd gen nitrided barrel. I know its 5/8Ă—24 thanks to guitarguy appreciate that really need the rest of that info now! ![]()
They make brakes for bolt actions which is why they want to know the thread length. Just measure yours. I doubt their brake is any more recoil reducing than others. I also would get a more traditional ar10 brake instead of their custom one.
An interesting article for you to read:
Yeah the m472 was the best supoosedly until the manufacturer updated it with a hypertap and the competitor like the ford and chevy argument would be the apollo max I guess. The asvantage of the new ones is they dont require special tools or knowledge to install them, I hear they have to be timed using a washer and crushed to a certain spec? The one like that gentry doesnt require any of that which I guess I could still just take it to a gunsmith its not like I have to take it off ever once its on there
APA Bastard and Area419 have nice brakes that do not require a smith to install. Likewise EC Tuner/brake installs easy… expensive at 250 but worth the tight groups… IMO.
