Not that I have any control over the subject or trying to be the Nomenclature Police…but P80 is alpha-numeric code for the first Glock to achieve Military Acceptance into the Austrian Army.
The Austrian P80 later migrated into the Civilian Market as the Glock 17. ( Gen 1) for lack of terms.
The number 17 wasn’t significant toward anything regarding the workings of the Pistol itself…it was mearly Gaston Glocks 17th Patend over the years.
Glock came out with a Replica P80 without their typical rail we’ve grown to know about 2 years ago.
They tried to replicate the original pistol and packaging as close as possible. Sadly the original molds were destroyed as the Glock weapons family grew and evolved. They couldn’t preserve and store everything when a change took place.
I have a Glock P80 Replica in my collection the the Vacuum Seal has never been broken on it. I figure I have enough 17’s and 19’s that this one can just remain pristine in hopes of gaining some meager value?
