Happy with my sniper green SWR cut slide with ported barrel, mated with the full size s frame for my big ol’ oven mitts. Combined with this GG flared magwell, feels so good
Definitely impressed with the trigger but trigger, optic, and more loading for my comp build.
Comp build in progress, so the Cain Arms pmag extension arrived today, after watching reviews I had doubts I’d use it competitively, probably just for a photo op…looking at the Taran tactical mag extensions as they work out more affordable compared to the OD green SLR rifleworks versions which have the spring as an additional purchase.
Immediately I’m disappointed by the Cain Arms, see pics attached, they aren’t drop free when empty😥 but function as expected with one or more rounds in the mag.
Next up is the Timney trigger and Swampfox justice optic with the 27mm wide SRO size window.
They may not look as fancy but if you want function, just get the larger PMAGs. Much cheaper than the extensions. I once decided to get two Zev extensions for the GL PMAGs. One of those extensions that made the 17rd into a 22rd, cost twice as much as a single 21rd PMAG.
Baldr RL mini…Soo…im a giant, so that’s actually the optimal position for my secondary hand thumb lol…you should see the gymnastics my trigger finger has become accustomed to…
I have that Timney trigger on my new dagger and I just bought the ghost 6 lbs firing pin spring ahead of time. After reading many posts about the Timney trigger causing light primer strikes, I did it to be safe. I had some minor issues for the first few mags but after that it shot like a champ. Can anyone post some pros and cons of the Timney Alpha trigger upgrade Vs the Tactical Pontoon Peacemaker. They both look good on reviews just wanna get more opinions and if anyone has experience with either in Daggers
Not in a Dagger, but I’ve had several friends with the Alpha that had repeated light strike issues, with the trigger installed properly.
I remember reading somewhere, likely here, that the Alpha doesn’t quite fit right in the Dagger, so modification might be needed to gun and/or trigger.
Looking at the Peacemaker I’d go with that. Didn’t look at price, but it’s likely retaining all the factory safeties since it’s using the same style trigger group, connector, all that stuff. Even included a Gen 5 style ejector so that’s an upgrade.
So either that one or go with the Glock Performance Trigger if they have Gen3 models available. It just looks like a product improved Timney.
I honestly just run factory triggers with a polish though. Cheap and shoots just fine. I’d give that a try first.
After dry firing 1200 shots with the Mantis X training system I finally took my dagger to the range.
After the first round at around 11 yards I had to laugh out loud, shot landed smack dab in the middle of the x. Follow up shots were on point and target acquisition was so quick because it shoots so flat! I am pleased, impressed…man…
I may just stick with the stock trigger for now, I polished up the internals a bit after watching some Johnny Glocks and Tactical Pontoon videos and it’s already leagues better than my gen4 Glock. I’ve been considering the gunco trigger that James uses on his setups, just wanted o get rid of the never ending takeup but after yesterday I think this thing may be good to go as is…for now
The most I’ve ever swapped in my own Glocks was a trigger shoe, for a Vickers. Liked it but then it turns out I shaved the safety dingus a little too far so it wasn’t drop safe. Didn’t help shoot at all, just felt better.
I always take my pistols completely apart to inspect them anyway, so while there I go ahead and polish them instead of needing to run ammo/lots of dry fire in it. Never felt the need for anything more. I can still make 100 yd shots standing on 10in steel plates. Not bad for a stock but polished trigger.
The pre inspection also caught a small issue on both of my Daggers, but it was minor enough I just swapped a bit at home, no need to wait on shipping for a spare part I had already.
