Just touching base again. Greg, I hope you read this after your struggle with your illness is behind you, and get a chuckle about myself and others worrying over you. “I was too dang busy kickin’ the crap outta that virus to reply!”
We Miss you brother, get well and return to us soon.
Merry Christmas to you and your family, Greg! I haven’t posted here for a few days, hoping in the “No news is Good News” hypothesis, and giving you time to gather up from your fight with the illness.
I pray this finds you and yours Well and Recovering - as do all your forum friends here. Come back and see us, Brother!
I didn’t ask a ton of questions, but Greg is still fighting the good fight. She came down this weekend and was in the room with him today.
So regarding her battle with Covid, she is feeling well enough to make the 250ish mile round trip to see him on weekends, and obviously testing negative for the virus to be able to visit. Reading between the lines she is not 100%, and recovery from a bad battle with Covid is long. I’m still dealing with issues from this past March…She will need more time.
Greg is on a ventilator. So far, that ventilator is doing its job while Greg does his job. They did not connect him to the ECMO, and so long as the status quo continues, the ECMO is out of the picture. Truth be told, I’m happy that his situation hadn’t deteriorated enough to require the ECMO.
There are no timelines in place. His battle and subsequent recovery will be lengthy, with any success measured in small increments.
Now that I know that he is incommunicado, I will cease daily text messages and rely on weekly updates from her.
Thank You mightily, Allen. So glad to hear that Greg’s Wife is on the mend - I will continue praying for him, and will try to post up encouragement for him here, for him to read as he recovers.
You hear that Greg? You gotta get Better, and get on here to chastise us all for Worrying over you!
I got covid pneumonia myself last year. Very scary. 37 and mostly healthy. Luckily I recovered with some lingering issues. Best of luck bud. You’ll make it!
Thanks for the update. It’s hopefully a good sign that they were able to hold off with the ECMO. He’ll pull through, he still has a lot of his collection to show off so we can all feel jealous.
God bless him and give him strength to keep up the good fight. He is in my prayers also. Everyone here wishing him well….will do a great deal lifting his spirit and strength when he reads these messages. The Happy soul recovers more quickly than sad one.
However long it takes….take all the time necessary to recover. We will be here……the same gubers….talking about weather, cars, shooting sports and our glory days. I am looking forward to catching up with Greg……when he is rested and recovered.
I will continue to pray for Greg. I know what having the guys here behind you can mean to you when you’re messed up in a hospital, knowing we’re all pulling, praying and doing our part to help him fight here, will only help give him more strength to continue the fight there, and will hopefully help him beat this thing. He can do it!
Please let his wife know that the folks here at PSA forums are praying for them.
thanks man.
I’m hoping this finds you up and starting to catch up with us. I couldn’t let the day go by without at least SOME kind of well-wishes from the peanut gallery!
You take your time, respond to us when you’re good and dang Ready.
Greg, everyday here on the PSA Forum, ……is like sitting at the dinner table waiting for a guest to arrive. We miss your wisdom. You never realize just how much “1911” contributes the the quality of the forum……until we start reading our own threads…… Our intellectual value has dropped in your absence and we are needing a dose of wisdom.
Happy new year……it will be, as your health improves .
God Speed.
