I worked at a dairy while I was in college and the amount of methane those lagoons put out is flipping scary. I hated standing anywhere near the pump building when they were cleaning all of the manure out of the milking barns or feeding lots. It felt like I was standing next to a massive pipe bomb.
We usually sprayed it on fields as a fertilizer after sat in the lagoons for a while. But that methane is a scary mother.
