Dagger 3650 rounds. To the point review

Purchased the Dagger w/10 mag and bag deal April 2023.

Care Products:
Tetra + Moly Grease
Clenzoil + Moly Grease
10W-40 + Moly Grease

Not the best choice for EDC. Great range toy.

Pins rust very easy even with constant care. Buy yourself titanium pins.

Front sight needs better tolerances on thread pitch. NEEDS MORE BITE. Blue loctite nor 6000 PSI Epoxy will prevent front sight loosening. Go aftermarket.

Slide lock lever spring broke at 900rds. Throw it away. Works better without it the entire part.

Firing pin broke at 3650 rounds. Dry fired 85 times with snap caps.

No FTE
No FTF
FTL began around 700rds until lock lever spring broke at 900rds.

Finish coating wears off easily. Whatever holster you use, oil it or pad it.

Magwell needs constant care to prevent mag bite during ejection. The poly frame dries out and is very sensitive to dusty environments. Oil the magwell and the mags frequently if carrying.

Not my favorite gun. Not terrible but not great.

I just got mine home yesterday. About 100rnds in and no problems. Mag catches seem to be a common issue lately. I’ll keep an eye out for those issues.

Weird cause I’ve had almost none of those issues. The opposite so far.
My tan cerakote dagger and the plain black nitride one both have pretty much no wear except where I’ve been rough with them on the ground in a few spots over the years. A tiny spot on each and I know exactly when it happened too. T1C Axis Slim and a Trex Ironside for the two. No pin rust for me and I don’t lube the pins at all. Front sights have been staying in with no issue. Both my OEM Dagger ones and the Ameriglo’s that one came with.

Think you mean the slide stop lever, as the slide lock is the takedown lever bit, so the gun does need that to stay together. Mine have been fine, though I did finally swap mine over to an aftermarket. Firing pin has been fine to me and I’ve got as many dryfires as you have live fire, through both Daggers separately.

The one I have had is the magwell thing, but isn’t a huge deal for me. Each gun is an individual though. When I first got each gun they had a tiny issue relating to the trigger housing. Black one had an out of spec connector that would not stay bent in the proper shape, tan one had an ejector that was stuck in so hard that I stabbed into my finger with a screwdriver trying to remove it. Yeah it never came out. One issue was a 5 minute part swap with a spare I had, the other wasn’t necessary, just wanted to use a Gen 5 style ejector instead.
Sucks your having issues with yours because I enjoy mine quite a lot especially for the price paid. I don’t have that high of a round count on a single Dagger yet, maybe 2k through one of them and 1k through the other. But tons and tons of dryfire without the dreaded striker breakage yet.

Have well over 1000rds through mine, much more dry firing, and zero issues. Carry it often and no rusting.

I honestly don’t know how many rounds through mine. A couple to a few thousand rounds somewhere with a lot more dry fires. The front sight came loose and the guide rod screw came loose. I Loctited them and haven’t had an issue since. No rust at all but I read somewhere that some guys who sweat more will have this problem. Might depend on how it’s carried. No broken springs, that’s strange. Why are the springs breaking?

I carry mine appendix and the only bit that’s rusted was on my black Dagger, in the rear sight channel and part of the rear sight itself. That’s only cause installing the rear sight did wear the coating off a bit. The slide nitride or whatever itself was completely fine, just wiped it off and it was good. Tan Cerakote one has not been a problem though I don’t appendix it much. I’ve since painted the black Dagger so even less chance of it rusting now.
For clarification, I do sweat a lot.

No rust and I’ll put it away wet and dirty.

I lost a bit of the finish on my gray Dagger from attaching and removing it from a strong magnet on a nightstand every day. I don’t think it’s a strike against the firearm itself, I don’t feel like any other cerakote job would’ve stood up any better to it, and the gun has given me zero issues otherwise over roughly 1,200 rounds.

To be honest I’m not sure how many I’ve shot but I have one 33rd mag and 6 to 8 mags that cam with it. No problems what so ever except for the 33rd mag but l don’t count that as an issue. No wear of any kind and no lose roll pins ( I’ve heard of people having them come out)

NDZ seems to have some decent pins to take of the corrosion issues.
