was just talking about this on a different post. and realized did psa redesign the psa dagger striker? its shinner now and has dot. and says on psa web site…fits gen 3 glocks?
i know for a fact the older ones had a larger tip and would not pass thru glock firing pin hole!
Well to be fair, the old ones did fit, but would likely have caused a big problem. I had to do a field expedient repair when my Rival Arms striker was found broken. Swapped Dagger striker into Brownell’s slide. No protrusion at first. I racked a few times, dry fired another few, and the tip stuck out. Then wouldn’t go back in lol. I had to use a bit of force to get that back out so I just swapped the entire upper onto the gun instead.
That striker is still working fine back in the Dagger by the way, but I also seem to be lucky and got a new enough one to not have a snapped striker (yet?)
Would be nice to know what the rolling changes were on the strikers. Don’t need another Sig situation where 10 guns with the exact same name aren’t compatible with each other’s parts within a year.
Looks like it, my replacement from august doesn’t have the dot but it is shinier. Guess I got a “gen 2” transitional one. I still have a gen 1 that hasn’t broken in an extra slide and my newer SWR slide came with the gen 2. I guess if the gen 2 breaks I’ll try the gen 3. Speaking of new designs, I saw a post about new guide rods with black ends but the product page is still the bare steel.
I was wanting to snag one but I’m not sure if I’d get a black one.
The back plate changed recently as well. It offers much more grip when trying to disassemble.
I respectively disagree… when I got home I took my old PSA dagger striker and tried to put it in a Glock OEM gen 3 slide and a Glock gen 3 aftermarket slide and the firing pin tip would not protrude. psa dagger (older) striker has a wider tip. and im not into forcing anything to work. after a while chances are you’re going to break something…
I’m not saying it was a good idea. And I said it had to be dry fired several times to make it protrude. So, technically it did fit, and technically correct is the best kind of correct.
I do know the tip is wider and that was the issue now. I didn’t at the time so I did my normal thing of give it a few tries to see what happens.
Nowhere was I implying it was intended to fit.
