Everybody clap, clap, clap for the AFT

How dare you speak your mind Sir.

This guy is the anti-Christ.

Senator John Cornyn then asked what the role of the ATF or the federal government is in terms of ā€œrestricting the rights of law-abiding gun owners to keep and bear arms.ā€

ā€œYou said that some of them may go on to commit crimes, but so far we are not living, I guess, in the movie The Minority Report where we have the capacity or ability to investigate pre-crimes," Cornyn said. "So what restrictions would you place on the right of a law-abiding citizen to keep and bear arms under the second amendment?ā€

ā€œIf I’m confirmed as ATF Director, it’s ATF’s responsibility to primarily enforce the National Firearms Act, the Gun Control Act,ā€ Chipman said. ā€œAnd our priority will be focusing on people who break federal laws and attempt to intervene before they kill someone, so that is a balance that we need to strike. But again, the Constitution is the guardrail to that activity.ā€

Chipman was later questioned by Sen. Mike Lee, a Utah Republican, about remarks he made about those who previously failed background checks and whether they should be investigated by law enforcement as potentially violent criminals.

ā€œWhen you said, ā€˜While at ATF, I conducted studies involving people who failed background checks to determine how many later committed crimes with a gun, many did, this is a perfect opportunity to arrest people before committing crimes, rather than responding after the fact,’ I find this statement very troubling," Lee said. "Especially troubling for someone who has been nominated to serve as the ATF director, because even setting aside for a minute the Second Amendment…this violates our most fundamental rules of due process.ā€

This is who we want leading the ATF?

If you aren’t writing letters opposing Chipman, redefining 80% lowers, or pistol braces, well, I’ll just leave it at that.

I’d love to see if this is an actual study or if he’s just blowing smoke out of his ā– ā– ā– . I’ve had more wrongful denials working at a gun counter than legitimate denials. Guess how many of those denials were followed up on. 0. They sure as hell did a lot of traces because people were proceeded when they should have been denied.

If we’re stuck with background checks they should focus on making the process faster and more accurate. With how slow and inaccurate it is being denied is not sufficient due process to say you cannot own a gun.

I have a feeling he’s blowing smoke. His whole career is a smokescreen

I bought a security 12ga back in February or March. My background took 9 days

NINE DAYS

I started to worry…

I, for One, WELCOME Our New Totalitarian Overlords!

If you ever wanted to know what a P.O.S. looks like look no further.

I bought a 12ga about that time and it took about just as long, felt the same way.

You in Colorado?

I’m in IL

That’s right, I forgot…

I left in 2004.

He looks like he had an older brother named Kyle that kicked his ass every day growing up; now he’s hell bent on being the bully as an adult.

ā€œI conducted a studyā€ is code for ā€œI don’t know how to conduct a study, but since I’m in a position of power, you should take me at my word no matter what.ā€

I feel for you guys in totalitarian states. I bought a rifle the lther day and was miffed it took 30 minutes. I’m in Florida. I fear for all of us from the trends I’m seeing, starting with Joe the Usurper.

I’d say Florida is more totalitarian than most states when it comes to firearms, especially when they require you to be 21 to purchase a rifle. Most states also only require FFLs to contact NICS which is federal. Florida requires FFLs to contact the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to initiate the background check, so they require a state and federal background check. Also most states allow a CCW to bypass the federal NICS background check, in Florida it only bypasses the FDLE portion and NICS is still required.

Same here, background are taken on by the IL State Police. Gov Pritzker just signed a crazy gun control bill for the whole state. Basically a backdoor to confiscation. If your foid card expires or is suspended/revoked they have the right to confiscate any firearms. Its absurd, hopefully it goes to surpreme court and is made a mockery of. The fact we cant get our foids renewed on time is scary. Fact that we have to get a foid is scary. Backgrounds takes days over a week sometimes. He encourages friends and family to red flag members. What is happening. I feel helpless.
Check it out if you want.

Once I can get my house sold I’m out.

Most of what you list happened as a result of the Broward county school shooting that produced little Davey Hogg. I agree there are things that could be improved, but c’mon, more totalitarian than Illinois, with the requirement to have a permit to OWN a gun? Or Colorado, with magazine limits, and such?

There ARE improvements I’d like to see. Who knows, with Desantis, we might get them.

I’m with you, but the same was said with Trump in office and Congress being majority Republican and nothing was passed regarding gun rights. There was little to no attempt at national reciprocity or the hearing protection act. When the bills died they basically said ā€œWhelp we triedā€ and put it behind them. It’s an individuals duty to protect their rights now, no politician will make any real effort past introducing a bill. Once the bill dies they point fingers at the opposition when they barely made an effort in the first place.

Man I was hoping something would happen with the hearing protection act, I want a can so bad

That’s going nowhere. Just like FBHObamacare.
