Recently I went to my outdoor shooting range and since winter is getting closer, the days are starting to get darker. When I was shooting my AK (Psak47 gf3), the sun set pretty quick behind the dam that overlooks the shooting range and it got pretty dark fairly quick; I noticed the flash an my gun was pretty bright.
I looked into getting a can (after all it will reduce flash, recoil, and sound) but I’m really not interested in paying $500 minimum and waiting 11 months to get it in addition to being registered with the ATF (yes I know they have an illegal registry right now but I’d rather not be on the official one).
Getting to the point, I’m wondering if there are any fake suppressors that reduce flash and recoil that obviously won’t do any suppressing. If those aren’t a reality then are there any compensator-flash hider combos?
I have two items that you may have interest in. The first is a Surefire Warden. It hides the flash and redirects the muzzle blast. It truely changes the felt recoil as well as the report. I like mine. The second item is a Suppressor by Witt Machine and Tool. It won’t help with the wait period or the registry but the 556 can I purchased was $200 plus the stamp. Mine is still in Suppressor prison, I’m waiting on ATF to tell me I can own what I own. Because I haven’t actually taken it to the range I cannot speak to how effective it is but the videos and reviews are impressive for an inexpensive can. Witts goal was to create a suppressor that would come in at less than $500 including the stamp.
