Fancy pants grips

I know you have to have an angled grip on a pistol… anyone here know the degree of angle it needs to be not to be an sbr? There’s a few with real slight angles like the bcmgunfighter one I really like, but I’m not trying to catch some horseshit charges over a grip… anyone know for sure what the qualification for grip angle specifically is tho?

im sure you agree wifth me when i say this is another bullshit law… but to answer your question, I am unsure of the numerical answer. . i’ve heard everything up to 2 degrees from it, being off… so 88 degrees, in that case would fly, but 90 does not. I dont know the truthfullness of that statement, but when i build my pistol out, i choose the one that is most comfortable for the job… andto me 90 degree grips on that small of a upper rail, just arent comfortable.

Oh ya, for sure a bullshit law… like just about all of them are… I’m really digging this bravo company grip; and it’s angle is present but fairly slight… def over 2* tho so if that info holds true, then it’s kosher…

The AFT has stated a VFG is “90° to the bore” in multiple letters. That is why the BCM is at 88°. That said, I have an SBR with a VFG. All my other firearms have the magpul afg, and honesty I like it better.

Cool. So the bcm is kosher… hella glad to hear that… I have a Magpul afg on my sub2k and I love how slick it feels… but really I like the feel of the bcm better on my AR setups…

Technically it is legal according to the AFT letter. But who knows what it will be tomorrow.

Preach it brother.

Glad I got some insight on this, I never understood why the vertical grip was such a no no, it’s not even that great.

Use mine more of a handstop than anything

I’m assuming nobody has seen this article dated 05/2019, put out by USCCA?

I followed these guidelines when I built my pistol. Here’s a quote and a link…

I’m not saying this is the end all be all authority on ATF interpretation, but there are opinions out there that ANY forward handgrip on a pistol is forbidden.

In addition, “ATF is now advising that foregrips — angled or otherwise — may not be used on pistol builds.” Jeff also noted that those building AR and all large-framed or PDW pistols should be aware of states or jurisdictions that differ from federal law in definition and application. This means always check before transporting your AR-15 pistol into another jurisdiction.

Keeping Your AR Pistol Build Legal

The AFT changes their tune regularly. They don’t want to help gun owners, they want to impare.

I know they do.

I’ve watched…

it’s not about imparement as we all know… its about control.
but we all know that… they just think we’re too stupid to know… and honestly sometimes how the majority of us roll over and lie down, we are too stupid.

Update on grips… really digging the strike industries afg… super minimalist… really it’s more of a handstop with an angly part at the back… light, feels like nothing

Just seen this reply, solid article… thanks

i like a lot of the strike kit… its good stuff.
