I’ve been reading about this ammunition for a while now but can’t find it anywhere. My wife shoots a Taurus TX 22 and loves the gun but you have to be pretty choosy about what type of ammo you run through it so it fires reliably. The most common problem is failure to feed issues with regular brass cases. With nickel plated cased shells, it has performed flawlessly in over 400 + rounds through it. Brass cased, 1 or 2 fail to feed per magazine. She uses the nickel plated CCI Stinger hollow points, which have been perfect, but they are hard to find or ridiculously expensive. Any help or other ideas would be greatly appreciated!
I have the same problem with my S&W M&P 15-22, the Aquila Super extra high velocity and the CCi mini mags give me the least amount of fte and ftf. I saw a youtube of CCi LR ‘Tactical’ that looked pretty promising… going to try that next.
Not sure if you’ve tried it or not, but there’s Federal (I think) M-22 ammo. It’s supposed to be designed for use in blowback and auto type pistols. Supposedly it his a little hotter for more pushback to get those slides and bolts back far enough to ensure good feeding. I’ve used it very successfully in an M&P22C pistol and and M&P15-22 rifle.

Currently my family has - 2 ruger SR22s/3 Walther p22s and a p22q/ 2 keltec p17s/ 4 MkIVs/ 1 tx22 and a few other oddball
NONE OF THEM LIKE THE SAME AMMO it’s never going to happen, what they all tend to do best with is higher power loadings and round noses.
Find what your individual gun likes, and when and if you can find it, stack it deep for that gun- we store each one with its own mags/ammo- just easier. Now to find 5k-10k rounds for each again at a reasonable price

i was going to buy the cci tactical, but instead i bought some ‘stingers’ and ‘stangers’ (1640 fps) they were only a bit more expensive. $27 for 100. made a big difference for my MP15-22. fed flawlessly for the first mag. one stovepipe in the next. also used some cci ‘velocitors’(1435fps) with a few errors per mag. federal and browning bulk was bad, every other one mis-fed.
Careful using super and hyper velocity ammo like stingers in your mp15-22. Check the owners manual to ensure it can be used in it. I’ve broken a couple 22LR guns using 1400+ fps ammo in them.
yes, good advice SuperPredator, and I have read the manual. Its specifically states that ‘stingers’ are ok if it is not a ‘performance center’ version of the 15-22
