Looking for insight. I got my first AK-V today. It’s also my first AK of any type. I believe my front sight base is not indexed correctly, ie not at true 12 o’clock. I guess I’m hoping there’s something I can do but I’m doubtful. This has to go back for repair right? It looks to me that the front sight is drilled and pinned to the barrel. I did submit a customer service inquiry on the website and I understand CS isn’t active on the forum. Just looking for insight / feeling a little frustrated and impatient. If CS takes care of me and I ultimately get this thing back in tip top shape I’ll be content. Just kinda bummed at the moment bc I’m loving everything else about this weapon.
That certainly look off.
It’s an AK. Isn’t that what hammers are for? (Just kidding, don’t do that! ) I’m sure that CS will fix you up.
AK irons are adjusted for windage and elevation at the front sight. To adjust windage, you push the “drum” to the left or right using a specific tool. Unfortunately, in the case of your AK-V, I would return for repair as the front sight appears to be very canted and may not be able to be zeroed.
Wow, im sorry this happened to you, barrel pressing is tricky, but someone should have fixed that before it left the shop. Send it back and ask for a refund
I must have bad luck. I bought a dissipator barrel from Del-ton a couple years ago and it had the same issue. The FSB on it was canted off to the side. Their customer service was very good and got it replaced right away. I’m hoping PSA handles this the same. I really don’t want a refund, I want a correct AK-V. I’ve purchased a number of PSA products and this is the first issue I’ve had. I guess qa/qc is one the areas they save us some money. It sucks but if they get me squared away, I’ll be happy. The sooner the better of course. I sent the message with pics yesterday (Saturday) morning. I hope to hear back by Wednesday at the latest. I’ll update.
No worries, PSA will take care of you.
In my experience they will definitely take care of you.

I have the same problem. I’ve noticed it visually and after sighting in my optic today, it’s clear that the sight post is offset and needs to be repaired. I’ve also had multiple screws come loose. I don’t mind doing my own loctite but I expect better from a factory purchase
I know it’s frustrating in your position, but PSA will take care of you. File a claim with customer service, and they will take care of everything. Before you know it, you’ll have your gun back and it will be tip top. The shipping back and forth was a lot easier than I thought it could be as well.
I got mine a couple weeks ago, and it seems to be way out of zero, i cant get on paper at 50 yards. Im not sure if i am having the same type of issue, im not even sure how to tell. Im waiting on a tool to try and zero the weapon.
