PSA ignoring my emails requesting a resolution to an incorrect gun ship to me

I purchased the SAR USA K2 45C Compact Steel Framed Pistol because I loved the idea of an adjustable rear sight but the weapon I received had a fixed Novak type rear sight and that’s not what I wanted. I contacted PSA about my situation and was told to send in images of the gun along some other paper work. It’s been now 2 weeks and haven’t heard back from PSA customer service. I’ve tried contacting PSA over and over again to no avail, seems that my emails are being ignored now. Please, if anyone from PSA sees this please help resolve this situation and keep a long time, loyal customer. Thank you and happy holidays !

customer happy. Thank you.

Unfortunately, customer service is not on the forum.

However, there are a few employees of PSA that are, and either a moderator or one of those employees should be along shortly.

BTW: Very nice Sarsilmaz. I’m a fan of their pistols, and have several models. (But not yet one of these!)

Thank you very much my friend for your input. I sure hope to get a resolution to my request. I even wrote them to please send me the correct adjustable sight and my smith / FFL would charge me 25 dollars to remove the fix sight and install the correct one as I don’t really want to send the gun back just for a rear sight. I love the way it shoots and after 500 rounds not a single malfunction. Happy Holidays !!!

Quick question: why did you accept the transfer at your FFL?

If it is not a PSA gun you will have to go through the original manufacturer.

That was my mistake for not doing that. My FFL brought the box out as I was filling out the paper work and doing the call in, then we started shooting the breeze and I just picked up the box and left only to find the mistake after I got home. Too bad, my loss. I still think PSA should honor the mistake and exchange the weapon or at least send me the rear sight and let my smith replace it for a small fee or offer some kind of store credit for the inconvenience. At the end of the day, it was my fault for trusting PSA to deliver the correct product. Lesson well learned at my 82 years old.

It’s not a PSA weapon but the weapon was sold to me as having an adjustable rear sight and I got a fixed sight weapon. The gun is perfect and I love it but was looking forward to an adjustable sight which is what I paid for and not a Novak sight. I do understand that for warranty purposes it has to go back to the manufacture but this isn’t a warranty issue but an incorrect gun that was sent out to me and I think they should honor their mistake, hell, I’ll even accept a store credit to buy something else like ammo.

If you accepted the transfer then they cannot take it back. That is standard for every gun company out there.

PSA does not inspect every gun they sell. They trust the manufacturer labeled the box correctly, which in this case sounds like it was either mislabeled or the wrong gun was in the wrong box. Therefore, only SAR can fix that. PSA cannot send you a correct sight because they did not manufacture the gun. That too is a policy that is gun industry wise.

Unfortunately what you should have done is refused the transfer.

Wait .. .you’ve already shot 500rds through it? So now its a used gun? Unfortunately that makes it even worse. Your only course of action now is to go through Sar.

First,

Welcome to the forums @jdp1956 !!! we’re glad you’re here. we also hope that you stick around longer than just for this issue… and become a regular!

secondly, it is the holiday week, so they may be a lot slower this week to respond to things with folks being off work for family and what not, so there is that.. and yes, that is even with you having sent them two weeks ago.

tertiary, there is no customer service here on the forums sadly. so the odds of customer service seeing it are slim.. however we do have some folks that may be able to help, or at least try to look into some things. @sean.psa is our administrator / PSA’s web guy that setup the forums for us… he may be able to help you some, but he’ll need things like your order number, and maybe some other things like any confirmation numbers or things like that… i dont know if hes even online this week due to the holidays but we’ll see.

Fourthly, i’ve never seen that make and model gun, im interested now, in learning about it more.. sounds like you like them alot… and it must be fairly reliable and accurate with you having shot 500 rounds through it already even with the wrong rear sight on it. which does bring me to a few questions Sean may need answers to.

1.) the packageing of the gun. what model / make / options were listed that was in the box? I.e. did the model # ont he box = match up to = the model of gun with the options it came with, that was actually in the box?

2.) did your electronic order while checking out, match the model number that you ordered and received, basically since you wanted the one with the adjustable rear sights, did the one you actually ordered on the site, have the correct model number of the gun that has those sights listed in the web site?

these are just a few things i think they’ll want to know too..
anyways… welcome aboard.

I have the full size and these are great handguns and nice and hefty. Really like it. The trigger is fantastic, reset is a little long but the crisp trigger pull is nice.

I did notice on the site that all the other images had adjustable and yours did not. My full size is fully adjustable. Which I don’t think I had to adjust them at all at the range. Nice handgun and fantastic price for a full steel pistol these days.

Yes, you are totally correct, I dropped the ball on that one. On a more positive note, my smith told me an S&W M&P sight or a Bomar will fit perfectly on that dovetail. Live and learn I guess. I still love the gun and it shoots very well even with the fix sights.

Yes sir, I had already paid for a self defense training class that lasted 6 hours and since I’m making that gun my EDC I had to use it. I love the gun and it shot incredibly well even with the Novak fix sight after making some POA adjustments. I’ve been a 1911 type guys since I was in the US Army back in 1971 (Vietnam and Laos) so fix sight isn’t new to me, I just like the though of having an adjustable rear sight. BTW, The serial number on the box matched the weapon itself.

Totally agree, fantastic gun and it actually shoots just as well as my $3K Wilson Combat or my Colt Series 70 Gold Cup. The high capacity and the adjustable rear sight attracted me to that gun. I guess I’ll just have to live with it considering in a close self defense situation you’ll probably be shooting from the hip anyways, adjustable sights or even a red dot won’t help.

I think I’ll just live with it, just had to make a little POA adjustment at 7 and 15 yards. I love the gun and the high capacity for a .45ACP.

Yeah I hate that though, I would be upset also considering all the others (including mine) had adjustable sights. It is a big deal and not sure why you would get a different SKU or Model whatever. But you do have the stainless and they do shoot well. I paid 399 for my full size from PSA and been happy with it. Only complaint I have is the slide is not tall enough to get a good grip sometimes. Especially with gloves. Not sure if they will be able to help you with it unless they sent the wrong model to you. Of course with FFL we are suppose to decline at store but. Anyway I seen your pictures and a fine looking Firearm, the Turks make good guns. I also have a Tisas 5.7 and it is as fine a handgun as I can find. As good as the Rock/SW/Ruger with 5.7x28. I have also been shooting the Turkish ammo for 99 dollars for 500 9mm BPS I think it is. Goes bang and clean.

Thank you for reaching out and yes, I love the forum and will be taking part more often. All the paper work and numbers on the box matched perfectly but the gun came with a Novak style rear site which is ok but not what I was expecting to get. I’m a 1911 type guy and all our 1911’s in the army were fixed sights and I even made Marksman back in 1971 during the Nam era, lol. I love the gun and I used it last weekend to attend a self defense class I had already paid for. Shot around 500 rounds during the day long class with no failures what so ever. I just wish they would answer me as a courtesy since they were the ones that messed up. I will wait till all these holiday are over and folks are on Vaky. Thank you once again.

Steve, these things are well made I ignored them for a while then I was at Basspro and they had the SAR 9mm 5inch Sport for 279 I think it was. Was a no brainer. Thing shoots so well and a great trigger. I know for a year so PSA has advertised the whole thing with SAR, holster, extra mags, case and handgun for like 200 bucks. Crazy good deal. The K2s are all steel and awesome. For the price if I get 5000 rounds well worth, doubt I will ever shoot it that much but fun when I do shoot. I am a 45acp fanboy though, my favorite round.

say no more.. 1911 man you and i get along just fine.. i love that platform myself.

Thank you for your service sir by the way.

good to know the serials matched on both.. that should mean the model numbers both matched too… as did the model number on the reciept versus what you have on the box model number wise.

thats true.. and honestly adjustable sights for a carry gun can be cause for more of an failure than a help, they can tend to make it more difficult to draw, being they could get snagged on things, and thus cause you precious seconds, and scarily being made, maybe shot due to the snag… so there is that to think about too.. . Not trying to talk you out of adjustables, just throwing that idea out there too.. on the flip side as well, you can always buy another adjustable with novaks to put on it… heck, even something by truglo may fit it if they make something you like witht he dovetail slide spot. but you are right.. in a cwp defensive situation, your at probably less than 7 feet so its a quick pull and fire situation.

you’re welcome. glad to hear it!!! thats so odd that everything on the box, gun , reciept etc, all matched with what you were supposed to have but yet you didnt get the right rear sight. i dont know what to make of that other than maybe it was an error at the manufacturers plant cause it sounds like it shoulda had it for all intents…

I’m with you about the 1911s, and im used to the fixed sights.. i wasnt someone who served sadly but i was introduced to them by my bro and ever since ive never looked back. I do have a good representation of the ones you would have carried though that i got from the CMP a few years back. its a colt with a remington rand slide. being that its a wwII refurb im sure it saw work all the way up till it was taken out of service in the what 80s was it when they put in the berettas? anyways.. thats awesome about marksman.. thats some fine shootin! glad that the gun is good to go as you have it and you love it already without any failures running that many out of the box straight into class is amazing! thats how its supposed to be done! i truly hope they will answer you as soon as possible but i bet it may be after the holidays. You’re very welcome!

yeah i mean i’ve heard of SAR before but only in passing and never thought much about them.. certainly not enough to think about stopping and looking at them or even ordering them. then again i was the same way with tisas until i heard enough scuttlebut about them to take a look. I’m with you guys about the .45 acp too so im quite the fanboy there so maybe i should look into them next time im feeling i want something new and different from what im usually looking at. Thanks Thomas.. I preciate the info.

I think they are so cheap because of the days of the cold war these armament dies and machining was sent to NATO allies for nothing just needed setup? I mean Tisas can make a nice M9, many of the other firearms also like the G3, MP5s etc. But SAR seems to also be a Soviet machining company, CZ, Baikal etc. I think maybe just private companies bought the equipment from auctions or something. Just a wild guess. I don’t know but some cool stuff.
