So I decided I wanted to shoot iron sight’s and bought a psa premium upper and dropped it on an old essential arms lower I have . I took it out to sight in and I could not get the rear sight adjusted over enough . I thought the front sight tower was canted so I brought the rifle home and leveled up the receiver and used a second level and it was perfect . So I got to looking things over and the rear sight housing was twisted . I got pissed and went by JSE surplus and picked up another carry handle and everything was good . I sighted the rifle in with some bulk federal 55 grain ammo and got a decent group for me at 50 yds . I am overall satisfied I know I could have called PSA and got another carry handle But , I wanted to shoot and didn’t feel like waiting .
Good group there, but how did your last rear sight get twisted would be my question. or did it come that way? glad it was an easy fix.
Mine is crooked or canted as well. I didn’t notice it for a long time. I’m not sure if it’s even “bad” or normal, or has no bearing on the situation?
I never asked, researched or posted pics or googled for other peoples pics I was close to removing it because I was switching around things on the rifle. So I didnt care, a few weeks later and it was off.
apparently it was that way when I got the upper . I just didn’t catch it . I have seen the same thing on colt’s and other brands . Maybe I should have called customer service , but I have worked maintenance in the coal mines and power plant’s and when something breaks you just fix it and carry on . It’s hard for an old dog to change his way’s . either way I am happy I definatly like the F.N. barrel that’s on the upper I think it will be a shooter for sure .
Even though you bought a new one doesn’t mean PSA couldn’t make it right with the old one. I like having extra stuff.
gotcha. kudos to you to just fix it and carry on instead of bitching and moaning about it and then getting it replaced by customer service. you did what a man should do there. im impressed

however i do think i would have the part replaced by customer service… after all you did pay for it.
So today I was getting data for my bolt action rifle and I had brought along my ar with the premium upper assembly . I shot some groups at 50 yds and they were pretty nice . so I had 5 rounds left and posted up a target at 100 yds . ammo was federal American Eagle 55 grain fmj . It was pretty hard to focus on the 3 inch target at 100 yds but I noticed I had a couple pretty close , got a cocky and pulled a flyer . It was all me not the rifle I am just giving a thumbs up to psa on a nice shooting upper .
