Regarding the AK-47’s that PSA builds from Romanian parts kits, such as the GF3-R, does anyone know if PSA covers those firearms with full lifetime warranty? After reading through the verbiage on the website it is unclear to me if they:
A) consider those firearms as items they manufacture (really more like assemble) themselves so they provide full warranty coverage.
B) PSA added their receiver and barrel to Romanian parts, so only the receiver and barrel are covered by warranty.
C) They consider the firearm as a unit they didn’t manufacture and there is no warranty provided at all.
D) Some other scenario/interpretation
My understanding at this time is that PSA inspects the Romanian parts, cleans them up, and assembles. I wouldn’t expect PSA to warranty any of the Romanian parts that they didn’t manufacture, but on the other hand it would be nice to have some peace of mind that if an unsatisfactory Romanian part was assembled into the gun then that type of issue would be covered.
It would also be nice to have peace of mind to know that if any issue with the firearm occurred because of error in assembly process that it would be covered and corrected.
The majority of the research I have done and opinions I have heard is that PSA has pretty good Quality Control and they stand behind their products, so I am not too worried about it, but any clarity that can be provided would be useful info to me as I am deciding which model/build to go with. Thanks!
