GF3 Moekov FTF issue

Got to try out my new GF3 today and had 2 FTF. Loaded 5 rounds, 3rd round FTF, looks like it only made it half-way out of the mag and marred the jacket on the bullet a bit. Cleared and re-seated and fired the last 3 without issue. Loaded 5 more and exact same issue on the 3rd round again. Tried with more and less rounds in the mag and no issues afterwards. I’m new to AKs and read the mag compatibility is hit-or-miss. The mag does have a little play when seated in the rifle.

I have more mags on the way so I can try those out, just thought I’d post and see if anyone else has run into this and other things I can look at when troubleshooting.

This was using 123 Grain FMJ Sellier & Bellot brass.

Try steel case ammo also.

Thanks for the quick reply. The only range I have access to currently, only allows brass… but I’ll see if different ammo helps… and hopefully find a better range :smiley:

Also make sure you dont hold the mag. That can cause it to rock the nose of the feedlips down which can result in a FTF. I sometimes hold my AR by the magwell but realized quickly i cant do that with an AK.

I’ve never shot brass ammo in an AK. And I’ve had many AKs and I shoot my guns. Try some Wolf polyformance and see what happens. That’s what I always AK with.
