The thread is still running. Lots want it.
Yes please bring back these single shot rifles. I like my TC encore but for the price and ergonomics of it are kinda awkward vs the slim traditional inline feel of the old HR rifles. I would rather have the HR single shots over the encores. And if the cost for a whole rifle was cheaper than an encore barrel I think they would sell well. They make for a great kids gun because they are so easy to chop down and make fit for the youngsters
I think if PSA would just start with offering new barrels with threaded muzzles and modern chambering they would be massively popular.
I’d likely grab one if it was threaded. My first choice would be 300 Blackout, but I’d still consider buying one in 350 legend or 357 magnum.
Also, it would pretty much be a 110% buy for me if it was $50-$75 lower than the $400 price that was given.
Doubtful it will be less than $400. $400 is pushing it close to manufacturing cost.
If barrels are interchangeable with original receivers I would be interested.
A build-as-you-go Handi Rifle could help keep costs down for the consumer and avoiding certain taxes.
My eyes are always open for Handi-Rifles on any used gun rack; I am especially looking for a .30-30 and a .223, and the holy Grail, a .22 Hornet. If they were brought back I would like to see a series based on the .30-30 case. 1)22 Savage Hi-Power(except with a .223 bullet, not .228) 2).25-35 Win 3) 7-30 Waters, and .30-30 Win ( I would then turn my .30-30 into a .30-30 Ackley Improved). Also a .32 Win Express , and maybe even a .35-30 Win. They could also give us a .35 Rem version while they are at it. A .219 Donaldson Wasp was a close cousin to the .22 Hi-power but did have the prefered .223 bullet. There are many possibilities all based on that great .30-30 Rimmed case that shoots so well in a single shot.
