OK, before everyone flames away on me asking about recoil pad for my 103 side folder… I am waiting for shoulder surgery, so I’m thinking about putting a recoil pad. I see The basic AK recoil pad for sale in various places, but anyone know if this will work on a psak 103 side folder?
Not sure if there is sufficient clearance when it’s folded for the latch to catch to keep it locked folded.

i use the AR buffer tube adapter and then an AR buttstock it significantly reduced the recoil
plus i can adjust the length
Thank you . yeah that’s not a bad idea… I do prefer to leave the traditional folding stock on it though . An AR stock won’t lock folded either though
That’s not going to work with a side folding stock
it will work with the ar buffer tube adapter
I appreciate it but that’s not what I’m looking for on a PSAk103.
Just wondering if anyone knows if a side folding AK stock will still lock in place with a recoil pad on it
I doubt zero recoil! Maybe zero recoil on the shoulder ha ha
dont count on folding your stock with that chonky boy on there. there are ak 100 series recoil pads out there but they can be a lil pricey. both keep your shoulder from getting starched after good day of shooting.
Thanks woody… I am now seeing the ones you’re talking about on some of the Russian surplus sites. And I didn’t think about that they have to have an integrated push button on the back to the release the stock as well so thank you for the info!

Youre only option to get a butt pad and keep the folding button is going to have to be a DIY project. Get some cushion pads (whatever thickness you want). Cut it so that it covers the buttstock but leaves the button exposed. Then wrap it all in some goon tape. This will also give your AK that “Red Dawn” look.
