Went for a 4.25mile run. Came back 3.2lbs lighter and unlike my usual run, i am not hungry.
oh. not at all, it’s really dry here tho. i blow my nose and am good to go. today i just had some espresso
Try Turmeric and Ginger. I’m taking 2000mg right now - it’s helped, especially with the joint pain.
I have tried it, and unfortunately it did nothing
Also, my stomach couldn’t tolerate the turmeric. Which I suppose is a good thing that it didn’t help, because then I’d have a real dilemma
Tramadol - pain
Methocarbamol - muscle relaxer
I can’t take any narcotics and legally report to work
IE pretty much any pain killer
Not to mention I have a very hard time tolerating them, especially opioids, and avoid them
I cannot tolerate opioids, they make me violently ill. So much for my dreams of becoming a Heroin Junkie.
Normally I can’t tolerate opioids either. They make me feel like death…
I honestly though think that our body lets us know what we really need
I had a severe issue about 10 years ago where I went through a weeks worth of opioids in about 3 days
I staggered them, and it kept me comfortable until the procedure, but that’s the only time that they’ve worked for me
Nothing but ibuprofen post procedure
I worry about addiction too
Yep I agree with both of you being that I’m not a fan of opioids either.
Unfortunately with my liver transplant I can only take certain things and need them.
I was always scared to death of becoming a addict. Before my transplant I would have my wife control when I could have one.
I actually had her hide them so I wouldn’t know where they were.
Hope you guys can find something to give yourselves some relief from the pain.
Carpal tunnel sucks ![]()
I don’t think mine is technically carpal tunnel, even through it affects the trapezium
I should maybe look into that, for a work comp claim
Not sure how that would pan out with a 30 year career with three different employers
My only work comp claim was my meniscus tear…not a fan of the process
Well it would have to be under your current employer I would imagine because it’s on their insurance carrier.
I would guess a former employer would tell you to pound sand.
Carpal tunnel testing is probably the way you need to go. They hook you up to a machine and then stick a tiny needle in your arm to measure nerve damage. Didn’t hurt.
**I’m not a doctor or a lawyer.
**Take anything I say at your own risk. Really
My first employer, Caterpillar, would sell my kidneys and try to tell me it was for the good of the company

Its like reading my own thoughts. Canopy failure on a jump, broken back in 5 places, toes, ankles, knees all injured. Then removed from jump status and sent to a toxic hell hole called Kunia. Asbestos, PCB, fungicides, pesticides, diesel fuel dust, and i never smoked or drank. Worked my ■■■ off to rehab, for a slot at Q course. Chose to exit the Army. No out going physical. Took about 4 years for injuries yo start taking me down. VA denied. Then, 10%. Never smoked, but have COPD. Was a fitness guru, but diabetes and thyroid slammed me out of nowhere and I ballooned. VA says not connected. VA moved me to 30% for one vertebrae and a weakened ankle. I was intelligence and linguist. Hearing shot, not connected says VA. Lol. So here I am at 60. Can barely walk. Get winded on 12 stairs. And VA keeps denying because magically all records lost… I keep fighting.
We all should keep fighting. Pain sucks. My father was a Korean war veteran. Gave up and took his own life. Mom died 2 years later. I was a single dad, 30 when father died. Watched my mom deteriorate from cancer.
Yes, life is the suck. But you have to find something of beauty out there.
Find enjoyment in something.
Thank you for your service and sharing your story with us @rustygray ![]()
Hopefully it helps to get some of it out.
The VA can suck.
I know I’ve seen a lot in emails that I get from the VA that they are encouraging more soldiers to come forward that have been exposed to hazardous materials.
Maybe it’s time for a attorney.
Whatever you do keep up the good fight !!

So last Thursday i was 186lbs. (I always weight in the morning post urination). This morning i was 178.6.
Took the day off from running yesterday but did get my 10k steps in by going for a walk around 8pm.
Things i have eaten:
Breakfast: 2 eggs and bacon
Lunch: i have had steak, bacon, and venison tenderloin
Supper: steak, grilled chicken, bacon.
Beverages: coffee (black), lots of water, and bourbon (neat, in moderation).
Today i am adding venison burger into the mix. Also, doing research i have found many low to 0 carb foods, such as mozzarella cheese sticks. When i hit the weight i want i will start to add that back in slowly.
Good for you sir @GuitarGuy
The last week I’ve fallen off my reduced carb diet and I feel like crap.
My blood sugar and pressure are both up.
Back to better eating starting today !!
Lots of low carb foods that are actually good
I put together a list for myself.
Basically just started reading the labels on everything in the house.
Avoid white food…
The thing i miss the most is peanut butter (i use all natural but still lots of carbs).
My plan is to get back to my desired weight. I gained the extra lbs when i quit running last year to give my knee a rest. Now that im running again i know i can maintain.
You don’t want to go carb free or too low, it’s not good for your body. @GuitarGuy
Peanut butter is actually a good carb to eat in moderation. It also will help you out with cravings. You have to have some carbs.
1 table spoon “the big one” = 4 carbs
Im just doing this until i reach my target weight and then will slowly go back to adding in carbs
