I’ve been running the same set of Walkers active muffs for close to decade. The original batteries finally gave out and because of my neglect, they kind of leaked a bit on the internals. 100% my fault. So im looking for a possible replacement. Here’s the thing though, muffs tend to hit the stock and not seal real well on my gun side ear. Id like to continue with active muffs, not the earbud type. Any suggestions?
I use Peltor tac 500s. Recently got a pair of Howard Leights and like the Peltors better.
Which Howard Leights? I’m in a similar boat as @BeardedBooniehat except my Walkers still run. They are not the most user friendly when it comes to shouldering a rifle.
i’ve got two types of electronic headphones.
I have a set of walkers, and i also have a set of Savior Apollos, both in my opinion are the exact same thing. I think the saviors which i had been given at the gathering last year are the exact same make and model as my Walkers… just repainted and re-sold. I could be wrong, but that’s what it looks like to me.
personally, i’d like to get a better set, one with bluetooth, and clearer microphone pickup/speaker,so that i could answer my phone on them and possibly listen to music too… i feel that as nice /good as the two i have are, and how well they work as they are, they are a bit antiquated compared to todays technology..So i’ll be following this thread fiarly closely
Im not conserned with BT connection. My biggest thing is the muffs popping off of my right ear when i shoulder any rifle or shotgun. I don’t mind oldschool earplugs, but really like the ability to hear communixation, if needed, ir just listening for critters when i am out on a back road killing tumbleweeds.
well mine will do that sometimes.. so i think if i do ever get a newer set, it will have to be a thinner model.. i think the wideness of the headgear/ear muff, is just too much to be comfortable. sometimes they also make wearing EyePro very uncomfortable.
Ha. I wear glasses, so ive always got my eyes on.
gotcha. usually i only wear readers, but when i shoot many times im wearing sun glasses as my eye pro.. so im always wearing some eye pro when shooting.
Impact sport
IF you can’t find a good solution, put a foam plug in your shoulder side ear. It’ll work.
I already do that. Just annoying. Thanks for the replies, y’all.
