I have a older set of Walkers noise canceling ear buds. They work well but the two things that I don’t like is that they take hearing aid batteries and they aren’t bluetooth. The hearing aid batteries are air activated so once you pull the plastic tab off of the battery they work well for one range session. The batteries will be dead even with the ear buds turned off the next time you go to use them.
The reviews for noise canceling bluetooth ear buds are all over the place. Everyone I look at has really mixed reviews. Does anyone have any suggestions for ones that they are using that work great? I am not interested in the ear muff type. I have a set of those that work well but they interfere with me getting a good cheek wield on the stock and they make me sweat.
Don’t have any but I’m looking at the set you tuber colln noir sells on his store. He has two different sets, looks like one hasore extras for $199 the one I cankind of afford is the $139 set.
Just something to look into, I’m still looking around to fi d something I can afford.
Good luck and hope you find something that works for you.
I have the Caldwell E-max Shadows. I like them for the most part but truly can’t recommend them. They are very close but a few things stop me.
1: One or the other doesn’t stay charged in the charging case. They still work with just one charged but it’s extremely annoying.
2: Battery life is not really that long. Maybe get 2.5 hrs talk time.
3: The package was missing multiple ear insert pieces when I opened them.

In all fairness I really think I got a dud pair. I like them but I don’t. Hope that helps.
Hey Rufus, hope you’re doing great. I believe I’ve said this in chat b4 but I have a medical problem that causes me severe neck pain so I can’t work and don’t have a lot of mone for 2a items. I have cheap ear muffs and want some ear buds. Is there something that you can recommend.
Thanks
Don’t really want to spend the $130 for the above ones but can if I save up for them.
I have used foamies + the big clunky Harbor Freight earmuffs. That combo blocked out my guns, the other folks’ guns, and my wife. I’m not recommending this. Just sayin’. It’s cheap. Just sayin’.
Rufus and I both know the meaning of chronic illness and having to deal with it. I also know what it is like to always be having to watch what you spend. I didn’t get paid at all last year while waiting on my medical disability to finally be approved. It was finally approved last month. If you will PM your info I will help you out and order you the ones on clearance and send them to you our if you have Pay Pal or Cash app I can send you what you need. I understand, I get it and I don’t mind helping. It may not be all that much but if you want it just PM me.
After beating up my ears for years I have to use hearing aids and have a pretty bad case tinnitus. I can lower the volume on the hearing aids to cover some noise but when I go hunting/shooting or even running a weed eater or chainsaw I pull the aids out and use foam plugs. Not a great option but the earmuffs just end up being to uncomfortable. May have to check out the noise cancelling plugs. Lesson learned: protect your hearing.
Tony I am getting close to having to have hearing aids. Years of shooting without full hearing protection so we could communicate. Back then we didn’t have the technology that we have today. Also blowing a Locomotive horn for two decades didn’t help either.
Crazy I was just looking at hearing aids.
My insurance provider has a deal with TruHearing brands.
$499 - $999 per ear
I’m just now starting to read up on them.
Any input from you guys that use aids would be appreciated. Thanks
Make sure to consult with an audiologist first. They will probably also send you to an ENT specialist to check if other problems are causing your hearing troubles. My current hearing aids (provided by the VA) are the behind the ear style. Main drawback for me is that they are not even water resistant so rainy days or me sweating is problematic. Go with an in the ear style if possible. Also, if you can, get them custom molded for your ears. Some of the cheaper ones just have a few generic sized plugs to fit in your ears. I have an appointment at the VA in July and hope to get mine swapped for the in the ear style.
Thank you very much for the offer. I need to stop spending for a few months. Just bought 500 Blazer brass 9mm yesterday and $130 on a olite balder s bl. Last week.
Glade you got your disability approved.
