Holster Recommendations

I’m going to be in the market for a good quality OWB holster soon. While I EVENTUALLY plan to get a Safariland level 2 or 3 retention holster, I’d like to get something just a tad LESS costly right off the bat. I’ve heard on a few Reddit forums that C&G, Dara & Falco all make pretty good holsters & after my own research, think that C&G would be best for my Shadow Systems MR920L since they make a model SPECIFICALLY for that Shadow Systems pistol instead of simply using a Glock holster. C&G also makes a holster for the Glock 47, 17 & 49, which suits both possibilities for me as far as 2 of the guns I’m considering (the other being a Glock 49). The only problem with C&G is that they DO NOT make holsters for the 2 guns that’re outliers as far as my choices are concerned, those being the Canik Mete SFT Pro & TP9 Elite Combat. Its these 2 guns that I seem to be having the most trouble finding decent holsters for.

I’d appreciate additional advice other than C&G for the Shadow Systems/Glock route, as well as ANY advice on holsters for either Canik, OTHER than We The People, which I’ve gleaned aren’t the most secure OWB holsters when it comes to keeping someone from easily snatching my weapon away.

And before anyone asks why I don’t just appendix carry, I can’t due to having an ostomy, & therefore can’t have anything inside my waistband that would interfere with that OR make my pants tighter. Thankfully here in TN, we have open/Constitutional carry, so therefore that’s the method of carry I employ.

Holsters are a sore spot with me. They are like college football fans. If you like it great, but everything else sucks or just doesn’t matter!:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Yeah, I gleaned that from the plethora of opinions on Reddit. “We The People is plebe gear,” “Safariland or bust,” etc. And while I get where ppl are coming from, in that having a secure holster that not just any douchebag can come & snatch your gun from you is paramount, there’ve GOTTA be other holsters that’re AS secure (or ALMOST so) that don’t cost damn near $200+! Not to mention, as someone who ONLY open carries, situational awareness is EQUALLY as big a deal as a secure holster. As is other means of security. For instance, since I’m left handed & have my holster on my left hip, I carry a Benchmade Sy P dagger clipped to my right pocket so that, should someone TRY to snatch my gun, I have a nice, long & wicked punch dagger with which to keep them away until I can draw my weapon.

Not to mention, I don’t wanna have to undo 50 different kinds of locks just to draw my weapon if, God forbid, I’m ever put into a situation where I need to get at it. Like I said, for the Shadow Systems or Glock, C&G seems to be the best bet. Its finding a holster for either a Canik Mete SFT Pro or TP9 Elite Combat (non light-bearing) that’s giving me trouble finding. Dara DOES make 1 for the SFT Pro, but the TP9 seems a little harder to find 1 for.

Thanks!!! The Big 4-5!!! God help me! Well, at least the kids I work with at my restaurant all have me pegged as in my early to mid 30s. But I’m guessing that’s due to me being 5,5 & 150 lbs, with the mind & crass sense of humor of a college freshman!

Absolutely!!! As a current employee of the restaurant biz & former fine dining veteran, there’re TONS of REALLY good places to go eat. From James Beard Award winning chefs & restaurants, to AMAZING LA-style taco trucks/stands, to AMAZING BBQ places, & even some good ole homemade stuff from my grill, just make sure you bring an appetite. And, of course, your guns, as there’s a pretty amazing range not too far from where I live, as well as some KILLER fishing spots. Nashville is also home to the nationally famous Glock Store, which has to be seen to be believed!

Werks Hosters, Bordertown Holsters, Vedder Holsters.

Bordertown holster will make you a holster for any firearms in any configuration. If is not listed on the site, he will make it for you. It is a family own business and they will answer the phone and emails with no problem, they have a very good reputation for customer service. They always answer all my emails.
Believe it or not, then you have Etsy, they have some really good quality holster. I have bought 4 from different vendors. Just time on the search bar what do you need and choose from below, they are all family own also, very humble folks. That is where I buy all my antlers to make muzzle loaders pan chargers. I shoot muzzle loaders too. I confess, I have a problem

Happy birthday brother, and just out of curiosity, how you experience have been with open carry. We have open carry in Colorado, but very seldom you see somebody open carrying. The ones that you see are the farmers and you can imagine why, is like a Godzilla zoo over here :joy:
They are introducing the wolf again, so far the have release 15, farmers are pissed, I was getting off track sorry.

Its not really a problem here in TN. Granted, I DO get some stares sometimes, in which case I usually just stare back with either a blank “wth” look or just a crap eating smirk. But for the most part, nobody really cares.

That is cool, here in Colorado we don’t have a problem. I guess folks don’t open carry because
is pretty easy to get a CCW permit, I guess.

People own guns in Colorado?

I DID finally do some digging & Vedder DOES make a holster for the Mete SFT Pro. As for light bearing ones for the SFT Pro, there’s a company on Etsy called DnzHolsters. And even better, they make light bearing holsters that fit Olights. I like the idea of the Olight Baldr S due to it being a laser/light combo. I’m 1 of those kinda people who like backups/redundancies, & having a laser (in ADDITION to irons) should my optic kaka the bed seems like a smart idea. To ME anyways.

However, I’m now about 90% certain I’m NOT gonna get an EPS & instead get the Swampfox Justice 2 with its GINORMOUS 30mm window! And if that Swampfox takes a dump, I’m gonna be LIVID. But at least I’ll have a laser backup with the Olight.

There is a nice review on YouTube in which they tested 3 and all of them busted after 2000 rounds.
