How Come?

Why do owners, while reviewing a purchased part on the PSA site, post pics of not only the part (lower, upper, etc.) but they also put pistols, knives, NVG gear, body armor, etc., in the pic ? Or, while reviewing a standard upper, the pic looks nothing like the product, description says, “Removed sight tower, replaced with low profile gas block, removed plastic hand guards and installed free-float MLOK hand guard, removed standard 16” barrel and installed 18" stainless. Now it’s a tack driver." etc… The only thing “stock” is the upper and ejection port cover. How does that review help someone buying the upper ?? Is it just bragging ? Showing off ? I don’t understand the need.

Oooo, you have a pistol too. So do most of us.

Rant over.

totally understand the rant, and the need to do it.

some guys just wanna be showboats is all… and think they are super tacticool if they can out tacticool everyone else i guess.

personally, i agree completely with what your saying about the modded stuff and it doesnt apply anymore when they modify the item… hopefully though you can sort through posts like that on whatever reviews youre looking at and find decent ones on the parts you need reviews on.

Well, there is the fact that some guys purchase a product with the intent of customizing it right away. Like I purchased the Dagger but there wasn’t a dagger like I wanted available with the non-threaded barrel. So I ordered a barrel also, and a Holosun, and after getting the pistol and shooting it a bit, I ordered an upgrade trigger.

I think it is totally fine to see what some guys do with what they order after they get their hands on it. Is it bragging? Maybe. But then again, is it bragging if you did it? well, maybe. But that’s ok. I see your point though. When a person does a review it should be specifically on the product without all the superfluous extras. ie, “I bought a Dagger, liked it very much but the trigger was a bit lacking to me.” But I also appreciate the superfluous stuff like, "I traded out the barrel because I wanted a different barrel than was available at the time and got a upgrade trigger cuz I’m a trigger snob. And put a good optic on it.

And the pictures? Pure gun porn. Nothing wrong with that. Gives me ideas.

Definitely some showoff people in the reviews but it’s also helpful to see what people did for builds when buying more basic components. And they could just be using a good shot they took for a social media account. If I’m looking at a complete upper I don’t care if people swapped the handguard. I want to know how the rifle cycles and how accurate it is.

Maybe change your way of thinking a bit and take a little inspiration from people who have some decent builds out there. Especially for guns like the dagger that have some oddball compatibility quirks with aftermarket parts.

Honestly it bugs me more when people post nice builds without a parts list. Saves me the trouble of going full internet sluth to buy the part for my own gun.

They wanted everyone to see how they “operate”.

i enjoy it… i think psa came up with bundle deals that sell like crazy because of it. So now maybe they did buy the pistol and ak47 in one purchase, you expect them to take several separate photos just to appease you? the email to review it several times come after they already modified their firearm they own like the last one for me EVERYONE knew i was going to slap fde all over it immediately… i don’t even know how the carbine runs without fde maybe not as good.

edit: oh and as to why? that’s pretty obvious… we live in a free country that allows it, can’t believe people still act like it’s a foreign culture…

Can they shoot? I get a kick from the guys that set up a target at 21 feet and blaze away with their AR. And a plus is all the junk hanging on them?

Because. It’s Fun. Why are you so not fun?

Hmm that will leave a mark.

Nah, no mark left. Because I don’t find irrelevance to be fun. Go to a dealer and ask for a Ford 150 part and he also brings out parts for a Mustang, just because he has them. Yeah, that’s fun !!

I see your point, Mudpie, but let's face it, everyone likes a pat on the back for a job well done. It is annoying to have a bunch of background stuff in a picture of "a gun". And certainly if it's a review of the base weapon which has only the lower from the original gun on it IS kinda pointless. But to show what you can do building onto a stock PSA weapon is encouraging to a lot of people. Everybody has their own taste and creativity, and the variations of weaponic creations is endless! I looked at a million AR pistol pictures online before building my 300 blackout, just to see if anyone had better ideas than me, maybe a part or mod I hadn't considered that looks badass. I don't think most guys are showing off, they just wanna know that there's like minded gun enthusiasts out there that appreciate a nice build.

A person alway’s has the option of just scrolling on by and not worry about what other people do .

Never actually “worried” about it, just “wondered”. I supposed you don’t wonder about anything huh? Just like you didn’t worry about what I posted. How ironic.

You can look that up.
