How to SBR your AKV

Anyone with knowledge on a step by step walk through to SBR your akv? Best folding or fixed stock. Ease of fitment. Things to know before attempting to go the legit route? Any help is appreciated!

The easiest route is to decide which stock you want first. Then do a mock-up of the setup so you can measure the requested lengths for your form 1.

Then fill out the form, attach fingerprints and passport photos, add a check, send and wait.

Eforms are faster than paper. Choose your poison.

I don’t know if there’s a “best” stock, cause it’s all subjective. Folder/underfolder/non-folding: you choose what works best for you. You will probably need a “puzzle piece” for the rear to secure the stock to the receiver, but that’s about it. Other than adapter sizes, the length of most AK stocks will be the same, unless you put an M4 collapsible on it.

Does that help or am I missing something more specific you are asking about?

Trust vs individual…i have everything on a trust. Some folks do individual because it is faster.

Trust used to be a no-brainer, but I switched to individual for awhile. Now, because reasons, I’m “transferring” to the trust I should have used the whole time.

As for picking parts, unless you already have something in mind and its hard to get, try to forget about the whole thing til the stamp is in. Can be agonizing to have all you need except permission from the crown to use what you already own.

Thanks SP! That’s exactly the info I was looking for. Now Guitar Guy throws this trust thing at me… Tell me more, sir, and what if I decide to add a suppressor down the line?

With a trust, you have a single document that has all your firearms on it. You can add relatives down the line via a new schedule or take them off. Everyone on the trust can be in possession of the firearms. Ex: if i am gone and someone breaks in my house, my wife can use my suppressed sbr and not get in trouble. Not that ahe would otherwise, but its just a measure of protection. I could add a friend and store the firearms at his house in case i moved or traveled out of country also.

Be advised. Your first tax stamp will not be your last. Especially with suppressors

Not knocking any other options, but I love a triangle folder. Just looks sexy to my eyes.
