Is this normal or another issue to RMA?

Hi so this is my second RMA from PSA and I have to say I’m not really surprised but I wanted to clarify that this indeed is not to spec and an issue seeing as I am somewhat familiar in how the uppers should be setup other than some of the chunky gouges taken out the back of it. Not too worried about that part other than the potentially wrong gas block.

First time buying and they sent me a 10.5" upper with a 300 bo rifle gas block and tuning knob. Didn’t bother firing sent it back right away.

!
This is my upper I just got back today.

Looks like they even test fired it like this too same with the other since the BCG did have some pretty solid wear marks. Did they merge the two or did I get the wrong system again?

PS they skimped me on the extra knob and it wouldn’t fit anyways the thickness where it catches between the gas block and pin would be too thin.

From the last misshap where they gave me a .3

What did the email from CS say? 5.56 comes with 2 knobs, one for suppressed and one for non suppressed.

Nata, they didn’t even include a S knob it wouldn’t fit with this gas block anyways unless they updated the thickness as shown in the previous photo. Both knobs between the .300 and this current 5.56 are the same profile minus the holes respectively. The gas block is even a longer version than the other they originally had on the 10.5". I even asked them what would have happened if I shot the 5.56 previously with the .300 rifle gas block but I got no response on that either so I left it up to itd just violently recoil completely unrestricted.

But they did give me a updated version it seems where they have cleaner milled holes on the heat vents and holes on top for venting. 3 larger holes instead of 6 small ones with those sharp edges that come all folded or chipped.

BTW it’s an 8 position too if you know anything about them I heard they’re a more recent update maybe? The 300 I believe had 8 and 4 on the S knob before it went back. This one when I removed the knob showed clear buildup of copper on the second to last so someone test fired and cleared it to go, also plenty of carbon lots of buildup on the piston. Being a Piston driven like an AK, would shortening the gas block or gas port size really make that much of a difference like it would with a direct impingement? I really do not want to have to send this back but if I have to again it might just be for a refund. I’ll be waiting another week for it to go back and another week for it to return. My only gripe about waiting about a month and a week now is that I have to go get my permits all over again to register it because they’ll be expired by the time I get it fixed if it does need to be.
