At my son’s. He brought it home about a month ago. 1954 non coin machine. New compressor during restoration. Holds 7 1/2 to 12 oz bottles. Steady temperature @ 38 degrees. His boss literally gave it to him!
There was one pretty much like that one at a TG&Y (5 and dime ) store when I was a kid early to mid 1960’s . 6-1/2oz coke was 5¢, my mother would let me and my younger brother each have a nickel. Then one day they doubled the price to a dime. From then on we had to share one. Probably right when Johnson got in the white house and just like when any Democrat gets their commie foot in the door food prices double and make your dollar worth less. Did I say worth less? I meant worthless.
Super nice Coca Cola machine. Y’all got it goin on with the nostalgia and vintage stuff. I gotta get up with Mr Peabody and see if he can transport me to the good ole days in his way back machine. Coins were .999 silver, we didn’t give a crap about nor listen to global warming idiots, gas was 19¢ because we knew we had natural resources in this country, and our national energy policy was to keep everything running, not some ponzi scheme to divert wealth and turn us into a third world sh#thole.
Rant over, I will climb down off my soap box, and get back in the Government soup and bread line.
Very nice! And I really like the wood floor and walls! ![]()
beautiful, and that is a beautiful coke machine too… those were before my time sadly.
Barn find literally. Solar brand charger 6, 12, 18 and 24V w/boost. No mice chewing but a lot of mud dobber(wasp) nests. Me and dad got it to run and charge using cantact cleaner but the only issue is the timer does not work. Wheels were gone, plug and clamps. It was a freebie! Back in service. Memories made.
In my dad’s shop. The Ultimate hardware organizer is the National Cash Register drawers! Roller drawers/guides, wish we had the ca$h they have seen!
Dad bought this Wilton Schiller Park IL vise new in 1974. 6" mechanic swivel base that has served us well. Collector’s pay big money for any style Witon these days.
man i love historical things like those cash register drawers and the old vise… hell i love just about anything historical… thats all just too kick arse. thanks for sharing them.
If y’all ever get chance to visit NC .
Found on our property when we bought the place - half buried behind cabin on our property. 1920 Cole Mfg Co Charlotte, NC. Mule drawn one row seed planter. Wooden handles were rotted away. I found some new old stock hickory handles for it on eBay, the guy wants $90. Can’t justify the money right now, other critical projects around home. I’ve seen them restored for $600. Not full blown restorations, just complete implement.
Old catalog showing it.
Complete restored or intact units look like these
What a find brother!!!
My wife said take that junk to the dump!
I said hell no…
My grandpa used to have an old mule drawn, ride on ground drive sickle mower. My uncle inherited the property and his wife made him get rid of it along with other implement from the 1920’s, 30’s and 40’s. Damn shame. When you sat on it, your weight gave traction to the two large iron wheels with cleats, and as the mule pulled the wheels turned a transmission attached to the axle which moved the cutting blade back and forth against the bottom fixed cutting blade.
Similar to my Grandfathers:
Once all of these old wonderful things are gone, they are gone forever. All the world will be left with is cheap Chinese crap. What a damn shame. ![]()
Wilton 350 3.5" jaw Bullet vise. It is unfortunately froze in the closed position. So l got 4 gal of vinegar, a new pan and about 2lbs of salt. The two pins that hold the screw nut was sheared, the end cap is now unusable getting the nut out (threaded cast sleeve).
Stood the vise upright soaking the shaft for 2 days with Jack of all sprays hoping it penetreats the tight tolerance. Screw, nut small parts went in the solution for 24 hrs.
Degrease the stuck vise and it went in the solution last night
