KS-47 Tight Mag Fit and Broken Ejector problems..... Help

Took the KS47 out this past weekend. Maybe 200 rounds into the gun up to that point and the ejector on the bcg broke off. 3/25/21 I ordered the complete upper, and complete lower separate as it was the only option at the time. Will PSA help me to replace the bad ejector? Any tips out there for mags fitting so tightly? For instance when I put in any of my 10 magpul pmags I have to assist the mag release lever to lock the mag in completely it wont just rock and lock into place. Another example I can give is my Korean steel mags will rock and lock in, but are near impossible to remove as it doesn’t leave enough clearance when trying to press the mag release. I have to push the magazine every which way for it to finally wiggle lose. Little disappointed here. I am working on a youtube video right now and can post it here if allowed. I need to check the rules and finish editing the video. Please chime in folks if you can help. Thank you in advance.

Thank you I had seem some other post and was hoping that may be the case. I have made several PSA purchases just have yet to need any follow up assistance like this. I bet and hope they can help. I see ejectors out there online, but not sure where to start. Also why bother if PSA can make it right without me going through all that trouble. I guess we will see.

I just sent you a PM.

I assume you meant the extractor claw, I’ve never seen an ejector break after 200 rounds. They just started using an upgraded toolcraft extractor so that should fix that issue. With AK mags they were originally hand fit to the rifle, but if all your mags aren’t fitting or are too tight sounds like the release is a tad too long. I bought a few magpul pmags and only one needed the rear tab dremeled down a tad so it would fit, now it’s my best fitting magazine. I find it’s best to find a happy medium between hand fitting every magazine to fit perfectly and not needing to do any dremeling/filing at all but some mags may feel loose. PSA will definitely fix whatever the issue is.

Correct. The Claw end of the extractor broke clean off. The extractor is now almost flush with the bolt face now. No claw to grab a round any more.

Sorry not the cleanest photo here. Snap shot of the video I mentioned. Hope this helps.

I saw these in stock last week and I ordered one immediately!
My KS-47 has seen excess of 3 K rounds. I have a complete extra Bolt & I just ordered a replacement extractor.

PSA is sold out of them now….but fill out the “Notify Me” when it’s back in stock and get yourself one in case yours breaks.

Are you running brass or Steelcase ammo??

Only Steel cased. For me…. I shoot a lot….so does my son, so it’s all about cost $ $. Steel cased ammo costs less.

I have no preference….it’s all about $ & cents

Real talk izzy, I’m the same way, but momma always told me run brass in the ar, steel with the ak. Brass is very forgiving and expands amazingly while steel does steel stuff. I’m just wondering what nolimitarmament was using

Current in Stock.

Dumb question about the extractor - does it use the same spring that fits under the AR-15 extractor?

Yes, the extractor is, for all intents and purposes, the same as a 5.56 extractor, simply milled to fit a 7.62x39 case so any spring or O-ring for a Mil Spec extractor and bolt will work.

Latest Update on my KS-47

I installed the TC-E extractor sent to me by PSA. THANK YOU FOR THAT PSA! Now see how the gun is acting. Almost the same as before really if not worse. Almost a failure to eject every round of Belom Brass Case. However, not a single issue with steel case ammo. Still have fitment issue with magazines shown in the video as well. What do you all think? Bad batch of Belom? Maybe out of spec ammo? I was also thinking maybe the buffer spring was too strong. Then I look back to the extractor. As you see me do in the video when I pull the bolt to inspect I put a spent case into the extractor flexing it against the ejector spring manually trying to “flick it” out and it doesn’t. It should flip right out I would think. I don’t know. I guess no failures on the steel case so maybe that is what I will go with here on out. Just sucks because I believe the Belom ammo was giving me sub moa accuracy, but doesn’t function. I really think if I keep shooting it I will have another broke extractor.

Brass was the main cause of the original issue and as I just posted below was the only issue here. Brass caused the first ejector to break I think and would do it again if I continued to run it. Check out the video I posted below from my YouTube.https://youtu.be/JO-DiXa8Tk4
