I finally got out to the range today to make my new KS-47 go boom 
It was excellent!
I am still waiting on my rear sight carry handle from O-planet, so it wasnt the most accurate experience. The best news is that It cycled flawlessly! The one issue I might have is that the mag release lever doesn’t snap to/lock when I insert the PSA issued P-Mag, I have to manually pull it back towards the trigger guard. I tried other P-Mags with the same result. It is very tight moving the lever. I put a drop of oil on each end of the lever pin and moved the lever to and fro, ocd like for 5 min. Any suggestions to get this going a bit smother?

I had the same issue with 1 mag out of a batch of 5 pmags. 4 locked in tight and 1 needed filing on the bottom of the rear tab. Fits nice and tight now.

All 20+ of my PMAGS had the same issue at first. After some thorough cleaning and a little bit of oil, it started to get better with every magazine change. Now it runs like a champ. It may just need to be broken in a bit. I also noticed that if you use some force when rocking the magazine back toward you when you insert it you can get a reassuring snap when it locks into place.

Mr. Fister, All of the mags work great in my GF3’s so I dont want to go filing off something to not make them work in those. They all fit nice and tight in the KS47 magwell once i pull back the release lever. On some mags I have to use two hands to force the lever forward to get it out. Its tighter than a Supergirls _____!
davidlandonjr, Yes, all of my P-Mags do the same thing as yours did, that is some good news to hear that it got better. So when you say thorough cleaning… are you talking the mags or the lower? Half of my mags are new and the gun was pretty clean to begin with.
I’m going to try some clp and flicking it around for an hour or so to see if it gets any better.
I have only put 40 rounds through it so far. The main part that I am happy about is that it didn’t have any feeding or ejection errors!
I posted this before but the mods deleted it, I have had to take the file to every single magazine I’ve ever used in BOTH my KS-47s
I have taken a file to pmags on my 308. Not everything always fits as advertised.

After inserting mine quite a few times it actually locks in place on its own now.
I did break it down and ran it hot and wet, after that the factory mag glides in and the lever locks into detent.

i can get a few to lock now, but when they do loc, i still need to pull the release lever back a bit more to sit flush on the trigger guard. even got a tapco to fit, but had to manhandle it, in and out.
i am still reluctant/waiting to file anything, watched a few utubes…
Q. Will filing a mag tab affect the other firearms fit?
It shouldn’t because you arnt filing that much off. Filing of pmags has become a standard practice for about the last 2 years. The problem is a lack of industry standards on anything except ar15s. I hear about pmag problems in CZ Scorpions, AK’s, ar10s, and even glock 19 and p80s.

My pmag 10 rnder was the same way however after abt 2 range trips maybe 100 rnds threw it , it now goes in pretty smooth however i have to pull the mag release back abt 1/8 inch and it doesnt “click” when its all in and release is all the way back…i have 2 other kci 40s which are worse in that regard however run great…the only mag i have that clicks in smooth as silk is believe it or not a kci 10 rnder…youll notice with these guns even mags palmetto say are guaranteed to work dont work for everybody and its prettt much like that with most mags, may work great for some and then you read abt others complaining cause they dont work well or alot of times at all…they all have gotten better or smoother inserting them as ive gotten more rounds through the gun tho
I had the same issue and the mag release broke off , snapped in half spring and all still works fine just the actual metal mag release piece snapped. What’s the quickest and cheapest way to get a new one anybody know? Lost my receipt so i don’t know about the warranty

If you bought it online maybe look through your order history. Just a suggestion, I’m betting one of the mods will steer ya in the right direction if I’m incorrect. If so log in, log in, click My Account button (upper right) then order history button, find the order and you can print the receipt from there. I only ever used the order # though.
Nah unfortunately I bought it in person In store with cash lol. I want to assume that since it’s a PSA brand gun and they offer lifetime warranty then it doesn’t matter receipt or not but not sure
have you talked to the store?
