Well it happened after about 200 rounds extractor just sheared off. I put adjustable gas block on it, but didn’t dial it back any yet. Guess I should have… contacted PSA about 2 weeks ago, they said they would send an extractor. Haven’t seen it yet…
Anyone have a solution other than getting an actual 7.62x39 bolt machined to work?
@trh7783 Can you please PM me your order number and a good shipping address and I’ll see if I can either find out what the delay is, or get one sent out.
Sent, thank you
I had the same issue with mine. Josiah helped me get it warrantied out. The replacement extractor is made of a harder material. I’m at about 500 rounds on my second extractor with no problems.
I always keep a spare in the pistol grip. There’s not a lot to it. Compared to 5.56 you have a larger diameter base on the same sized bolt face, eating a diet of steel case ammo. Steel case tears up extractors (steel is stronger than brass so a tight case that would otherwise rip off a brass rim puts that hurt onto the extractor). Look at an ak extractor it’s as big around as a pencil, an AR extractor is as thin as a potato chip. They are cheap and easy to change. Like the rollers on a g3 you expect to replace them. You could always do a Jack Cooper and oil every case and swab out the chamber constantly, but an extractor is cheaper than an entry fee. Every one of the girls has busted one. Palmetto, Rock River, Windham Weaponry, gun show mystery brand they’ve all gone to the great extractor heaven in the sky.
Mine broke after about 60 rounds. I’m hoping for the best with PSA to take care of this and will post updates.
I’m also have a broken extractor and can’t seem to find the right person to help me out get on the the right track to get my rig up and going again
The best way to get these issues taken care of is to call/email/chat our Customer Service Department and explain the issue, and that you need a replacement extractor. They may ask for pictures of the broken one to make sure we aren’t just sending out free parts to everyone who wants an extra, but then they will put in the order to have one sent out to you.
Was out firing my PSA AK today with no case extraction–looked at my bolt and SHOCKER! Broken extractor! Am I the first? LOL
Why does Palmetto State Armory tell me i need to send in my entire BCG for a broken extractor? Mine broke the second time shooting the rifle. Contacted customer service and was told to ship the BCG back for warranty evaluation. Yet you will send other customers the part they need. WTF!!!
They may be planning to send you an entire BCG, not just an extractor.
But I’m just guessing.
