We are working on getting barrels to put up individually, unfortunately I dont have a timeline for them right now. I’ll see if I can find out when we may be getting them and let everyone know.

Welcome to the Forums.

Thanks for the update, I’ll keep refreshing the ks47 page every 5 minutes like I’ve been doing for the past few months :joy:

Well guys, I finally found stock of the KS-47 upper I wanted. Fitted to the lower ive had for about a year now… and… absolutely awesome.

After a few sighting shots we stretched to 100, 200, 300 and 400.

I’m not a good shooter but i was hitting gongs easily on wolf fmj and even better on red army std hollow points.

Seriously impressed. We had one failure to feed but figured it out to be the magazine, a korean 20 that had its spring bound up wrong somehow. Fixed and away we went.

Put 80 rounds through and left the range with a new favorite. It helps that it makes me look like a good shooter :joy:

Well done PSA. Well worth the wait.

Don’t forget we have pictures thread too. Would love to see what your new favorite looks like. :+1:

Ok, I’ll upload some tonight

Picked up a 16" KS-47 very lightly used, at a local pawn shop - because it was there, and I had always wanted something like that. I figured $650 was a fair price, considering, the way things are in the Summer of 2021. Did some after the fact research, and mostly liked what I saw. Put a 1x4 LPVO on it and sighted it in on the back 40.

Impressed. Dead nuts reliable, soft shooting, ejected cases about 3’, so the gassing seems good, got 2" groups at 50 yards, and I’m sure it will do much better from a real sand bagged bench, instead of a roll of paper towels on a shaky plastic lawn table. But I may not be able to do anything better anyway, I’m a bit out of practice.

Anyway, the KS is definitely going to be my go to hog, deer, varmint and predator control system out at the farm. I saw someone on the forum said their KS kicked worse than a .308, but mine is not much more recoil than a standard AR. Doesn’t even seem as hard kicking as my last AK, which was considerably heavier.

All to say, I love this gun! I’d really like to get a couple more, and some spare BCGs, bolts, and extractors. Just in case, as it seems like this platform is a bit rough on these parts, but I consider it a small price to pay in exchange for the many advantages of the KS47.

I’m sure that it could be a great product line for PSA, if they can keep them in stock. (I know, things are tough right now…)

I know I’d like to get a few more. I know there’s a lot of great companies out there that make great firearms, and I feel PSA is trying their best, and are rather a well known secret. I’d heard of them for years, with good reports, before I bought my KS. I just really want them to succeed, survive, and prosper, because I want to do a lot more business with them!

Anyway, sorry to ramble, but hey! PSA, once you get caught up with production, how about a 18" or 20" barrel model? Set-up for accuracy? Mid or rifle gas system? Just a thought…

Welcome to the Forums! Parts should be a little more available soon. We recently re-worked the extractor on the BCG because the old ones were having some issues. Now that we have it worked out, we threw a bunch into new products, and a good bit online as parts, and they were all snatched up pretty quick.

I’m not sure about the longer barrels, but I’ll gladly check and see if there might be plans. I’ll get back with any info if I can get an answer for your.

Barrels are in stock, get them before they’re gone!

Anybody know if that new extractor will work on other bcgs? I’ve got a Faxon Bolt, and Rock River Arms bolt that ride in a MGI HYDRA carrier. I’m assuming so but figured I’d ask

From looking at it, I would say yes. It appears that the claw was re-profiled and should work with your bolts.

How about a 7.62x39 upper with a heavy (1" diameter) 24" barrel ?

Would add a few hundred feet per second compared to the 16 inch.

A 10% increase in velocity = 20% increase in power.

I use 7.62x39 upper size loads in a 308 and it works really well, with high BC bullets etc.

One of the higher BC bullets I’ve found for 303 is the Hornady 174 grain, BC around .47.

That’s RPK barrel length you’re talking about… I’d be interested.

Yeah and now that I have nice supply of 40rd mags to feed one, I would be down for KS-47 #3.

God talk about Pencil Thin.

The wall thickness on the tube they call a barrel, can’t be more than 1/10 inch.

Is this the model that is known for exceptional reliability ?

What gives you the impression an RPK has a thin walled barrel?

I’m not a historian but the RPK would be the squad automatic weapon version of the AK47. Longer, heavier barrel, carry handle… just heavier duty.
