He mentioned another perceived issue and also alluded to Robski’s experiences testing the PSAK. I can’t remember if that was the 74 though.

Misha had similar issue with 74.

I don’t recall the 74… I know he had issues with a firing pin retainer clip but psa acknowledged it was a small amount of gf3’s that had bad FP retainer clips. Other than that the gf3 looked great .

I didn’t realize Misha had posted a follow up video. He sent the 74 back to Palmetto State and it looks like they replaced quite a bit of components.

GarandThumb ripped it for wear on trunnions. That was addressed by MAC as what he perceived as normal which is in line with Rob Ski’s analysis. I’ll take Rob’s opinion especially after a 5K review over sore thumb’s endless mag dumps. Misha apparently hates any AK built in America. I think there is a firing pin/bolt issue and I really wish that PSA would address it with an acknowledgement and what they plan on doing about it. I own several PSA products including a 74 but I’ve only put a couple hundred rounds through it. I’d like another but I’m waiting on PSA to address the issue.

Yeah I agree on all. I’d love a PSA 74 but I’d like to know what the fix is before buying one. That being said I sure love my GF 3’s

Continuing the discussion from Mac Channel firing pin issues with psak 74:

I have a GF3 as well as an AK-V to go along with the PSA AK74. I love them all. Are the perfect? Probably not but they are American made and more available than imports. I had issues with my GF3 not consistently locking up Pmags and canted front sight post. PSA paid to ship it both ways and fixed it. I’m satisfied and thankful that they are manufacturing AK’s. I recommend the KS47 as well. My apologies for the poor photo quality.

If memory serves …

I’ve got gf3, 2 akv’s, 2 akp’s, and an arv.

Love em all. Fit and finish on par with my arsenals. I’d love a 74 to round out collection but I want firing pin issue sorted out first.

Nice collection. I have two KS47’s that I really like as well. I want another 74 but we’ll wait and see for now. I’ve been looking for a spare 74 bolt carrier to be a host for a KNS piston. I’ve got a ZPAP M70 I just installed one on to run suppressed with my Wolverine. It’s a super soft flat shooter now.

Nice… I was thinking about while we can still get imports grabbing a Zpap as well If they come in stock. Wouldn’t mind a psak 103 as well

I sold a Wasr 10 and 2 SKS’s a 5 years ago sadly with a lot of others :sob: when I took a contract job in the UAE. I will buy at least one more when and if they present themselves. I had a few issues with my GF3 when I first got it but PSA made it right. The front sight post was canted however it was able to zero it but I had to drift it as far as it would go. I also had a loose rear sight spring, the same problem that Mrgunsandgear had. Then the most problematic problem was that not all PMags would lock up. They fixed all of the problems and payed shipping both ways. You can literally ship it from a UPS store to PSA and they will ship it to your house depending on you state laws I presume without an FFL. I live in Florida. Hopefully you don’t have any problems.
