Mag release button WAY too hard to press

what are NDZ extended trigger releases.???

NDZ Performance is a firearms parts company. They have Glock compatible mag releases in various finishes, and designs, included extended releases. I have their extended mag releases on two of my Dagger pistols, and it makes it much easier to release the mag.

Mine is overly stiff as well. never had a mag release that stiff. i swapped the release for a NDZ standard release and it’s a little better but still stiff. hope after time the spring gets easier to push.

Have snaps?
My suggestion is to just run it. I’m left handed, strong hand drop them with the trigger finger, off hand alternate between thumb and middle finger. Edges sharp? Yes. Kissed them with sand paper? Yes. After a bunch it softens up.
If you’re right handed with big hands, are you covering the mag release on the right side with your grip?
Will I put it right beside my son’s G19 and pick it every time? Yup, the hand feel is better and more natural. Just took a little breaking in.
Just a couple thoughts.

SOLUTION! Your opposing fingers on the other side of the pistol grip (opposite side of the magazine release) are pushing against the other side of the release button. Therefore, your own grip is making it too hard to eject the magazine.

I struggled with this for days until I simply took out the magazine, pushed the release button and happened to notice that when I pushed it the other side (where a left handed release button would go) popped out. Try it!

It’s still a bad design, but now that I’m mindful that it’s my own fingers causing the problem my mags pop out fine every time.

Hope this helps!

Welcome.

Easy enough to do left handed as well

But I wouldn’t go so far as to call it a poor design. There is only so much real estate available in a compact and it’s in essentially the same place as the G19 IIRC. Compatibility with G19/17 magazines defines where it is.

Every factory gun I’ve shot has done this, outside of the trigger guard releases and heel catch releases.
If you have an extended release it’s not even noticeable. It’s still an issue of the spring geometry and release button. Guns with ambi releases are even worse. I changed my FN509 to a single sided release for that exact issue because it actually sticks out the other side without it being pressed.

By the way, I installed the TangoDown Vickers Extended Magazine release and no more “darn near impossible to push” button! Now magazines release as easily as they do on my M&P 2.0 Compact. Huge improvement! Only took about 5 minutes to install. “Thank you, YouTube!”

I avoid Glockstore like it’s the plague.

Also it’s not the most reliable anecdote, but having used that style of ambi release on an airsoft gun, it is VERY easy to bump the right side with your grip and drop mags all the time. I’m sure the real one has a much stiffer spring but still. I generally hate fully ambi releases because they stick out too far and make it hard to drop the mag from the left side, or are so far out that they are pressed by my middle finger.

Good to know! I think I am going to just go with the 2.5 lb spring, I’m used to using my index finger to drop the mag if you can’t swap the mag release to the other side.

I’m sure the real version is higher quality. But yeah if you’re already used to doing that, the lighter spring would probably be best. Using an extended release on that side could cause issues with your grip.

The 2.5 lb spring makes this way better!

i think he is on to something, this would explain what i didn’t think about… i don’t strangle my pistol i just have strong wrists
