I was just curious, What is the hollow peg coming out of
the muzzle device? Is it just what is
keeping the ring attached to the flash
hider? Does it serve any other purpose? I have dismantled the handguard & am going to replace it with a free-float, I at some time in the near future plan on getting a silencer\ suppressor , whatever you care to call it. It’s a little budget build with some stuff I had laying around\not using. Any suggestions on a can for this blackout?
On your earlier post about this upper what input did you get from the gunsmith?
That Roll Pin is to keep the front retainer and hand guard from spinning around the barrel.
He did a fine job disassembling the parts in question, he said it was not as straight forward as expected but aside from some unwanted gouges, he got the job done as prescribed. Now on to getting her some new clothes.
