Mount point for trijicon rmr on akv

Just got my weapon , love it . Just received my trijicon rmr . Pretty sure I know the answer , but should I mount it as far forward as I can ? Thinking about the picitany rail being pined at the front may be a more solid mount . Just wondering about blowback dirtying up the sight so close to chamber . Any experienced comments on using a trijicon rmr on the akv will be greatly appreciated .

@SuperPredator has a vortex venom on his. Similar sight, he can probably post pics and answer any questions you have.

No issues from dirt or soot due to blowback on mine.

For me, further forward allows me to have more use of my peripheral vision outside of the sight, but the dot is more blurry from my astigmatism. Closer to the eye makes it easier to acquire the dot, but creates more tunnel-vison when shooting at multiple targets spread out.

It will come to your personal preference, but I wouldn’t worry about the sight getting dirty. The ejection port is to the right, the sight is above it. Or just keep a lens wipe in the grip pod if you have one.

welcome to the forums @slaw32

I would up mounting it on the front end of the dust cover . It won’t cowitness with the irons . The dot is directly over but slightly above the front sight post. I have it mounted as low as I can go . Will have to get used because wherever ihold the dot and pull the trigger that is where the bullet goes . Here’s a picture of my popper at 25 yards . Once I got it zeroed it is dead on accurate . My only dissatisfaction with this platform is the stock trigger . Don’t know why they built such a fine weapon and put such a crappy trigger in it . I changed that out for an ALG before I even shot it . Gotta say now this weapon is awesome . Been waiting 14 months for my can . Should be any day now that will make this weapon complete .
