Continuing the discussion from KS-47 picture thread:
Any idea of the decibels you get out of the KS pistol? I really like both of yours.
I’ve never had the opportunity to checkout the decibel level. I can say that the 10.5 “ is a bit louder.
And thanks
I absolutely love that kS47 pistol. I hope to build one for myself one day.
Since we last spoke about the decibels from a 10.5” ks47 I’ve purchased a “ Witt machine” SMD and installed it on my ks 47 pistol . I can say I’m really impressed with the results . Well worth the purchase price & no tax stamp ( not yet anyway)
I just got mine and I went to put a muzzle brake on it and it wouldn’t take 5/8x24…it’s got regular .556 threads…blew my mind…but I was wondering if you thought a "double tap binary trigger would function?
It should have come with 5/8x24 threads, if it didn’t, I would call Customer Service. They will probably send you a label to send in the upper for a barrel replacement. It looks like someone at the factory grabbed the wrong die when they were threading the barrels.
When you consider that they make over a million barrels a year, it’s easy to see mistakes happening.
I didn’t buy it from PSA I got it off gunbroker
Also, a binary should work, since it’s a two-piece trigger. The ones you have to look out for are the cassette style drop ins. They won’t sit flush in the lower, because of the paddle release spring leg.
But it came brand-new, hold on I’ll show you what the barrel thread looks like next to my .300 blackout
Well, unless the OG owner did it, it still might be worth a call to CS to see. Just make sure whatever muzzle device you put on is the proper bore. Don’t want to try and send a .30 cal bullet down a .22 cal bore.
Or, you can just order a new barrel from PSA and swap it out.
Lifetime warranty from PSA
Yea iv orderd a fake suppressor barrel shroud, I figure that would be alright, if not I’ll get it figured out… I Been looking at this Double Tap trigger that’s only $199 what you think bout that?
Yep, should work. I’ve even seen videos on YouTube with KS-47s using them.
Would my BCG work on?
Cause the fostech echo sais you need a full auto bcg
My KS-47 definitely has 5/8-24. You may have a valuable collector’s item there!
I’d still take @robholland1911 's advice and call Customer Service.
Yea the .30 call muzzle brake jus slides on and spins, I layed the barrel next to my AR and it’s the thread size is the same, I put it next to my .300 blk and it’s noticably smaller, but it shoots fine
I like the setup! Is that custom barrel the one with 1/2-28 threading? Or is it the original one?
Also, it’s hard to tell for sure, but the sights look like they’re on backwards.
